Firstly I don't like giving bad reviews but due to the experience I had and the lack of empathy here goes... We decided to eat at the wild west diner as we were drawn to the quirky decor and it was my birthday so wanted something different. We were shown to our table and were served by a friendly young lady. After choosing I was told they had no ribs, bit weird as it was a smoke house after all and certainly not busy everytime we walked by. Not a problem though so ordered a steak, medium to well done when asked. After a 20min wait our food arrived, my Husband's food was hot but sadly mine was all stone cold. The lady apologised and said she would rectify this. Sat at watched my husband eat and waited for a further 15/20mins. The restaurant wasn't busy just another couple of tables so there was no pressure in the kitchen, so couldn't really work out the delay. Already my birthday meal was ruined, it's supposed to be a meal together, not eating separately. When my steak finally arrived I looked down and it was rare to medium, not what I asked for. Plate was swimming in blood juices. At this point I'd just had enough, I wanted to leave. A man with a beard, I presume the manager asked what the problem was. No sympathy or apology just said this is what happens with steak when rested. I know what a medium to well done steak is, this certainly wasn't! I felt annoyance from him which made me feel upset. At this point I just didn't want it to be returned again so said I didn't want it. He offered free deserts but tbh I just wanted to get out of there. When we left we were still charged for my Husband's meal and drinks. I would have least expected free drinks but didn't argue this as I didn't want this to totally ruin my birthday. We paid and left and didn't even get an apology for the disastrous meal. The manager obviously could sense we were leaving as we actually had to walk past him where he was stood at the bar but no he couldn't even be bothered to lift his head up and say sorry or goodbye. Awful customer service. This infuriated me, mind you he couldn't even do his fly's up which we spotted as he brought over my meal for the second time so don't know why I expected him to apologise. Luckily our trip to Blackpool was excellent but certainly wouldn't recommend this place, should have gone to one of the local fish and chip shops which we were told...
Read moreDespite not being able to get seated during peak hour times, I can say on behalf of my whole family that this establishment is one of the best places I've encountered in Blackpool. Upon arrival, we were met with a server, who rushed us to one of the last tables in the restaurant. However, the table seemed to be leaning and wobbling as if it possessed its own tectonic plates. This issue was quickly resolved by a member of staff, who kindly replaced the table and striked a short conversation with us. Sure, we had to wait around 45mins for food during peak times, but 45mins is a lot quicker than other places during rush hour, and very impressive management. This restaurant brought my family together, and the wait actually made us all talk and learn about each other more, waiting isn't always bad, it's what brings you together. The food was absolutely banging, well cooked and decorated. I would highly recommend the chicken guijon with piri piri sauce, tastes exactly like nandos which is also an amazing quality to have within the restaurant. The drinks were also perfect, not the typical flat draught you get in other places, but one that fizzes for your meal. Lastly, Pete who is going to be restaurant manager as of December was probably one of the most sociable, hard working, calm managers I have seen in my 16 years of living. No matter how busy the restaurant gets, he was always calm and maintained both extra customers who were waiting for the next available seat and his colleagues with tranquility. He was especially helpful with getting us a table for us to eat and showed interest in us as individuals, not customers. Thank you Pete for making wild West diner a good experience for us, we will miss it...
Read moreThe only good thing about this restaurant really is the good atmosphere and that is pretty much where the good things come to an end apart from a decent service experience, but even the service came with a problem as well.
The first issue was after we ordered our food and drink when the food came before our drinks arrived which is a big no-no as it shows that the food has not been cooked to order and instantly made me question the quality of the food which I wasn't wrong about as I will get into shortly. As the kind waitress placed the food down which was a cheeseburger with fries and salad I noticed the severe lack in quality of the burger as it was a cheap bun with overcooked meat between it, which tasted quite average which contrasts to the fries which were actually really tasty. However, I did notice that there was a bit of clingfilm like plastic on my plate which I don't know what it was from but it definitely does not reassure me on the quality of the food. When the drinks eventually came I noticed that instead of getting the half-pint of Pepsi Max that I specifically asked for I instead got a full pint which was quite annoying as it cost an extra pound more even though I very clearly asked for a half-pint. Further on in the meal I was going to try the salad bit when I went to pick it up I seen an insect on one of the tomatoes which immediately put me of my appetite completely.
Overall, the whole of my meal including the drink cost £14.50 which I think was absurd for the quality of food. Won't be going back there anytime soon. For the restaurant to improve I highly suggest getting better quality food and cooking...
