The clown deserves 5 stars. He is a top performer and knows his craft well. Probably the best clown I've ever seen to be honest. An all round top clown performer. The audience participation part, which naturally will differ depending on the night, was peak for me. His performance during that and when he was annoying mooky was world class.
The circus is beautifully built. That in itself is magical to see. Shame they kept the old seats though, they're tiny.
I was thrilled to see a small brass band playing live for the show (alongside some track music of course). The drummer and saxophonist were excellent.
As others have rightly said in reviews, directions given to disabled seating is terrible and unorganised. It should be so easy. We had regular seats in the end, there was no staff around the seating area other than sales / performers where we were. The person i attended with struggled greatly to get to the seat. The upper seating looks genuinely lethal and needs health and safety reviewing. God help anyone who falls at speed on those steps. It's steep and narrow even on the raised seats coming up from the stage.
Didn't have time for snacks unfortunately due to chaos of finding a seat in time.
The performers were fabulous except the young female dancers who looked fed up quite frankly and personally I found very boring and didn't add anything to the show other than tie the acts together and fill that in-between time. It should still be professional entertainment for such an old and famous circus.
The ringmaster had an on stage attitude which does the whole circus no favours. Yes he was talented.
The 2 brothers doing balanced somersaults were fantastic as was the juggling man.
The contortionist bored me once you've seen one you've seen them all.
Juan and the other guy on the revolving metal rings platform... juan you are going to kill yourself seriously. I was going to be sick. He cut that line too fine timing wise and had to stop shortly after it started or he would have fallen. I knew before that happened he is pushing death. That wouldn't be entertaining for anyone and every audience member enjoys the show more being confident the performers are not pushing their personal safety too far. I genuinely had to stop watching and didn't watch about 80 % of his act.
The finale was, legitimately, the worst finale I have ever witnessed. I would not even call it a finale I couldn't believe it when the lights came on. A song or something would have been nice or a mash up of all performers together.
Ultimately the clowns acts saved the show. He was what we as an audience expect. I loved watching kids and their parents with the spinning plates and getting their faces painted. The roller blade act was also not for me but very well done. Seemed a big effort filling the pool for. The big Rollerblades looked great and it was very aesthetic, but so much more could of been done instead that wouldn't of required waiting for the pool to fill and getting the set ready. At least utilize the water in some way other than the Rollerblade seating decor. I expected magical mermaids or a clown that soaks you like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to the circus today with my mum, dad, sister and her boyfriend today at 1pm (30/5/2024)
It was a proper circus (not like a tent one) literally a strong one in-between all four legs of the Blackpool tower, that was beautifully designed, architecturally styled and a large room that was quite tall, comfortable sits (rows were a bit small, but I literally couldnāt of cared less as every minute of the acts were brilliant and hypnotising, the clown we had at the 1pm-3pm show was absolutely hilarious, the acts with randomly unfortunate pulled out strangest watching in the audience getting involved and maybe humiliating were hilarious! But god I am glad I wasnāt a unfortunate person to be in one of the acts, pretty sure my family were too and my sisters boyfriend were relieved too! Felt bad and embarrassed for the ones who were picked, but I couldnāt stop laughing, the acts had amazing suspense to them and they were very intense and were funny, amazing and/or terrifying to watch (depending on what the act was)
Brilliant performances for everyone, so many unexpected things and twists during it all too! Small and/or fast going toilet and food stall queues! Nice food and drinks! Comfy foldable chairs and some part of the acts looked so mind-blowing, it didnāt even look possible or even real, though it was all very real and pure talent! Definitely panicked you and makes you jump of your seat from intense and suspense (sorry if I keep kinda repeating myself again and again)
Some parts that were the comedy segments from our clown, It nearly looked like it wasnāt even part of the act! But everything was! And that happening and you understanding that makes all a lot funnier!
My mum only paid £90 odd for 4 adults and 1 child and 5 bags of popcorn and 5 soft drinks in total!
(Some acts were that good, after the interval especially, my mum was clapping her hands from amazement that much and hard, she accidentally made her popcorn go mostly on the floor, TWICE, within minutes of each other!) All talking people in the act were also dead clearer, considering we were also only several rows away from the back of the first floor of the arena!
I and my family and my sisters boyfriend would recommend 100%! Worth the price in my opinion, would pay double the price to see that exact act and generally amazing, general experience again and again without getting bored of it! (Best circus act any of us have ever seen), generally so impressive, talented and funny in our personal experiences here today!
10/10...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to the circus when I was in Blackpool this year and I have been many times before and I thoroughly enjoyed the show amazing hosts and amazing acts always and I will go back again however I have issues with certain things for example if you are a bigger wider person the seats have no room for you to sit in you are uncomfortable and feel squished there is no leg room at all I have osteoarthritis and that has always been horrible for me sitting in such cramped seats and having no leg room they need to change this as the welcome everyone of all shapes and sizes and walks of life etc also I hired a electric wheelchair this year while i was in Blackpool and I was not informed that i had to book a wheelchair space for the circus and I had to leave my electric wheelchair at the buggy park in the tower and walk to the accessible door in the tower for the circus which is a bit of a problem for me as I struggle walking due to my osteoarthritis and also the fact that when I walk I have to use crutches a member of staff took me to the accessible door for the circus so I knew where I was going so a great member of staff so the fact that you have to book a wheelchair space has to be made much clearer for people also the stairs in the circus hall have no banisters and I struggle going up and down stairs for me it's pretty much out of the question so I have never been able to get a programme as the people who sell the programmes stand inside the circus circle and don't come up to people which I think is wrong and ridiculous and I also think that needs to change the only reason I got a programme this year is because of another kind person who was there to watch the circus went down to the circus circle and got one for me which was very kind of the person to do for me also when i was severely struggling sitting in the seats a member of staff got me a chair i could sit on and i sat on the chair next to where the wheelchairs were for the rest of the show however after i got up from the seating to go to the chair the member of staff had got for me I was struggling to walk even more after being squashed and cramped and I was in more pain also so I believe that some things need to change in the circus to make the experience...
