I am extremely disappointed with the service my wife and I received at the ticketing station on May 22, 2024, at 19:00. The employee on duty displayed a complete lack of professionalism and courtesy. After serving the people ahead of us, the employee abruptly closed the service window without any explanation or acknowledgment of our presence, despite the station appearing to be open.
We only had a quick question about changing our train time, and this simple communication could have easily resolved the matter. Instead, we were left feeling embarrassed and disrespected. The people ahead of us were also shocked by the sudden closure and even offered to help us, which was unnecessary but highlighted the failure of your staff to provide basic customer service.
As someone with over ten years of experience in the customer service industry, I have never encountered such disregard for customer care. This incident has left me questioning whether this treatment was due to our race, which is an even more concerning possibility.
I strongly urge the management to provide better training for their employees on proper customer etiquette. Ensuring respectful and clear communication with all customers should be a fundamental practice.
This was a very disappointing experience, and I hope no other customers have to endure the...
Read moreUsing GWR trains has been nothing short of a nightmare. We paid a premium price for tickets from London to Windsor & Eton Central, expecting at least a basic level of service. What we got instead was a complete disaster.
On the return journey, we arrived at the station at 2:55 PM for the 3:00 PM trainâonly for it to be cancelled at the last minute. We decided to wait for the next train at 3:20 PM, and guess what? It was cancelled again. When the third train scheduled for 3:40 PM approached, that one was also cancelled right before departure.
Three trains were cancelled in a row with zero communication, zero apology, and absolutely no replacement service provided. When I complained at the ticket desk, the staff gave a dismissive shrug and basically said there was nothing they could do. There were no buses, no alternate options, just a âtough luckâ attitude.
Eventually, I had to pay out of pocket for an Uber to Slough station to get back to London, totally defeating the purpose of buying train tickets in advance.
Honestly, England charges ridiculously high fares for what is essentially a third-world-level train service. Itâs shocking how unreliable and poorly managed the train system is, especially with companies like GWR, which donât care about their customers.
Avoid GWR if you value your time,...
Read moreMore of a shopping centre than a station these days as it only has the shuttle service running to/from Slough. Howver this train is mostly on time and on the odd occasion that you see a member of the station staff they are quite friendly.
This place really is an absolute pleasure to enter when walking in from the street as it is just full of old fashioned charm. Lots of designer shops, bars and coffe shops in the old statioen buildings, all done in a tasteful manner that bring back memories of past grandeour.
The place is really kept clean and tidy with no obvious litter. Well done to however looks after it.
I like the replica steam train near the remaining station plaform that gives a hint of what this place must have been like in its hey day. A great photo opportunity.
Walking under the old entrance into town you get a great view of the castle itself.
A great, clean well kept building that gives just the right impression to the visitor if they arrive by train from the...
