I do not usually write reviews however, for my experiences today I am shockingly appalled by the staffâs behaviour and the lack of hygiene located in the womenâs changing rooms and the pool itself. Once arriving to the pool, junior non- swimmers were expected to take a swim test which we were not informed about at the till or the leisure centres website. I must say the swim test is absolutely disorganised as many children who âfailedâ or âhave not been able to swim non-stop to the other sideâ were either told to leave the leisure centre or if the staff were feeling âniceâ as most they were allowed to sit out in the benches, distraughtly watching their friends and the other children playing in the pool. Sitting in the jacuzzi, sliding on the slide (not into water) , dipping your feet into the pool were all excuses of possible âdrowningâ as they say. Despite their statement displaying that âall levels allowedâ only strong swimmers and children with parents were permitted into the pool. Being rude and disrespectful, the staff were not any help as you try to talk or reason with them. They look at you in pure disgust and do not put any effort into any discussion or their jobs in general. My next concern is about the womenâs changing rooms. The changing rooms are not like any other changing rooms I have been to. Grime and dirt hang on the walls of the smelly room and the toilets are utterly disgusting, my reason for this being I have found several used sanitary towels out of its bin and scattered on the floors and there are no tissues to use. The lockers were extremely limited with approximately thirty lockers for the shocking amount of people that were piled into the pool today, and some of the lockers had no locks or were damaged anyways. Do not be surprised if one day your last option is to risk losing your personal belongings by having to place your stuff elsewhere such as on top of the lockers or even on top of island in the middle. My last concern is about the pool itself. The floors seemed to be covered with some type of sand textured material disturbing and clinging on to my feet. The foam on the rope dividing the pools was not to be touched and chipped. The chipped pieces floated around the entire pool where i would pick from my hair. In conclusion I do not recommend going to the archway leisure centres pool although my experiences may differentiate from the obvious raters who gave it 3.7...
Read moreI used to go for aqua aerobics, which was great. Teacher Maria, really good. Changing rooms and showers utterly appalling. Staff like zombies - land of the living dead. If you politely draw their attention to the piles of scummy, unrecognisable debris shored up on the floors or ask them about the absence of toilet paper in the cubicles with no locks etc, they look at you as if you've told them something in a language they've never heard before. Then they walk off without you being able to hear what they've muttered under their breath. Never worked out what they were doing there. They hung around a lot chatting, but lost the power of speech and of their legs when a customer needed something. They did occasionally use a scraping implement to shift the scum from one part of the changing room to the other, but no actual bleach or detergent was used, so it just formed a new layer of dirt on the floor with maybe a slightly different shade of scummy grey. I complained November-ish 2016 and was told by management that the ladies' changing rooms would be renovated at Christmas 2016 time, and that there was no point in cleaning up until then! Maybe they've been renovated now and the staff have miraculously discovered an interest in keeping the place clean, but I moved on, so won't ever find out now. Shame because the pool itself is lovely. It has what looks like sand or gravel on the bottom, but it's from the filter system apparently. That's what I was told anyway by one of the living dead who was able to complete a sentence. To be fair, there is one member of staff who is really lovely and happens to be drop dead gorgeous too. She is the only one who I saw cleaning with actual cleaning fluids and was putting real effort into it. I should imagine, as she has social skills, and can engage with customers, she'll make a great career for herself. Just not at Archway...
Read moreI am not one to write a review but I was disgusted by what I experienced today. First of all I arrived at the swimming pool with not being informed about the junior swim test which I was meant to be told about from the reception. Apparently not passing the swim test gives you the option of watching your friends having a blast in the water or leaving the premises. Bare in mind that this was also not stated on the website though for some reason they stated that they accepted all levels of swimming towards the Family Fun swim. Secondarily I have to be honest the changing rooms were atrocious. I found sanitary pads on the floor within my changing room. (Not a pleasant sight I must say). Lockers were very limited and when I say this I mean half of the lockers either donât have a key, donât have a wristband thatâs meant to be connected to the key or are just broken. As a result I had to leave my belongings in a locker with the door flying open. Also I must say the staff are very rude and unsympathetic. I had to argue to get my money back from them because I was not allowed to swim. I was quite shocked when I experienced someone who nearly drowned in the deep end. I was shocked that the lifeguard did not do his job but thought it was appropriate to yell âOi...Oi help this girl!â this was directed to the two men who were swimming casually in the same section (Nope they were not staff but strangers). To conclude this all I have to say is that I do not recommend this leisure centre for its pool to customers who are looking for hygiene, kind staff, and the freedom to have a...
