We had an absolutely amazing time at Battersea Children’s Zoo! The place is incredibly well-maintained, extremely clean, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. There are so many lovely activities for kids — from sand pits and water play areas to an indoor activity space where children can draw or read stories. There are also plenty of picnic spots throughout the zoo, which makes it easy to relax and enjoy the day as a family.

That particular week during the Easter holidays, there were little chicks in one of the rooms, and it was such a fun and special experience for the kids to see them up close.

We would definitely return, and if we lived closer to Battersea, we’d 100% get the membership.

I noticed some previous reviews mentioning that the zoo is small, but to be honest — the clue is in the name. It’s a children’s zoo. You’re not going to see lions or huge animals, but what’s here is perfect for little ones. It’s compact, thoughtfully designed, and full of animals that children truly enjoy watching. Personally, I didn’t find it small at all.

Yes, the zoo has a bit of an older feel, but sometimes old is gold! It’s very well looked after, and even the toilets were clean — which says a lot.

If I had one suggestion, it would be to offer some pastries and better coffee at the café. But that’s a minor thing and didn’t take away from the day at all. The gift shop at the end was also a lovely surprise, with lots of cute zoo-themed toys and books.

Some have said the tickets are pricey, but when you compare it to soft play prices in the area, it’s actually reasonable — and we’d choose this zoo experience over a soft play any day.

Highly...

I recently visited with my children, and I must say, it was a disappointing experience that did not live up to our expectations.

First and foremost, the entrance fee was quite expensive considering the lack of variety in the animals present. We were expecting a diverse range of wildlife, but to our surprise, there were very few animals to see. It felt more like a petting zoo than a proper children's zoo park.

Additionally, the facilities were lacking. The café on-site was inadequate. We had hoped to enjoy a nice meal or at least a decent cup of coffee during our visit, but the options were very underwhelming.

To make matters worse, there were machines scattered around that required extra payment for children to play on, even after we had already paid a significant amount for our entrance tickets. It felt like a money grab, leaving us feeling frustrated and undervalued as visitors.

The receptionist at the entrance was not welcoming at all. Instead of a friendly greeting, we were met with indifference, which set a negative tone for our visit.

As for the play areas, they were all quite similar to what you might find in any local park—nothing unique or special that justified the high entrance fee. We could have easily found similar play equipment in our neighborhood for free.

Overall, I would not recommend . It simply isn't worth the money. We left feeling disappointed and wishing we had chosen a different place to spend our day. Save your money and find a more engaging and enjoyable experience for your family elsewhere may be just...

Battersea Park Children's Zoo is a delightful and educational attraction located in the heart of Battersea Park in London. This charming zoo is specifically designed for children, offering a unique and interactive experience that is both entertaining and informative.

One of the highlights of Battersea Park Children's Zoo is its wide variety of animals, including meerkats, monkeys, otters, and birds. The zoo provides a close-up look at these fascinating creatures, allowing children to learn about their habitats, behaviors, and conservation efforts. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always on hand to answer questions and provide interesting facts about the animals, adding to the educational experience.

In addition to the animal exhibits, Battersea Park Children's Zoo also features a range of activities for children, such as a petting zoo, a play area, and daily feeding sessions. These interactive experiences are designed to engage and entertain young visitors, making it a perfect day out for families.

The zoo is well-maintained and clean, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children to explore and learn. The admission prices are reasonable, and the zoo offers annual memberships for those who wish to visit regularly.

Overall, Battersea Park Children's Zoo is a wonderful destination for families with young children. It offers a fun and educational day out, with plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning and animal encounters. I highly recommend visiting Battersea Park Children's Zoo for a memorable and...

I am bias with zoos so definitely bare that in mind! The zoo was very small, which was quite sad to see as the park itself is massive and I would have thought the zoo would be bigger. I dunno really what I expected, if it is realistic or not but I thought maybe those at the animals would interact and talk about them. But I feel that isn't reality. The reptile house was infact not a house, more like a walk way with very small enclosures for the reptiles/amphibians either side of you. We did visit on a very hot day so I understand not many animals were there, which is totally fine. It had play apparatuses all through, which is wonderful for the kids. All in all really I'd say not great, very sad even. However for young little ones it is exiting. I liked how there were seating picnic areas too, so it wasn't like you had to trek with hungry children until you got somewhere and could just fuel them up and carry on. So getting the tickets were great, you get a month to use them and don't have to book in advance a slot so no rush whilst getting into London on a time frame. We had no issues getting in even with a disability and carer tickets, I had the docs ready but weren't needed. The staff you could see were working very hard and in such high temperatures.

Such a lovely little local zoo. A good selection of donkeys, sheep, pigs, birds, small monkeys, amphibians, bunnies, rats, goats, mice, meerkats and otters. Also has an awesome amount of play equipment that you could spend longer on than seeing the animals - a big castle climbing frame, fire engine, helicopter, sand diggers, a huge sand and water pit. Nice picnic area where you can relax and eat whilst watching them play. My only feedback would be that the sand pit smelt quite strongly of urine when we visited which was a bit off-putting, and some of the keepers arent the friendliest (although the animals are clearly well cared for and that's what matters). There's a few small ride ons including a little vehicle carousel so bring some pound coins. A little cafe with basic hot drinks/ice creams etc and a good amount of cleanish toilets. I'd bring your own picnic as much cheaper/quicker than the que. I also wish that the owl had a bigger enclosure though, it always looks so sad :( Their gift shop would do better with a slightly more varied content for the little ones. The surrounding Battersea Park and riverside walk is beautiful and there's more than enough to do for a whole day out.
