Tonkotsu Battersea was buzzing on Sunday evening, a welcome sight compared to quieter spots nearby. We waited a bit for a table, but the friendly staff sat us down quickly. Unfortunately, our table wasn't quite clean, with some sauce from previous diners.
Despite the initial hiccup, the service was excellent. Everyone was attentive and welcoming.
My partner, a Tonkotsu fan (particularly from Eat Tokyo), went for Tonkotsu of course :) The pork broth was rich and flavorful, but the noodles had a different texture to what he's used to get (and he had a lot đ).
I wasn't super hungry, so I opted to try a few sides:
To drink, I had the Nature de Petit Roubie Blanc, which was enjoyable, but they didn't have proper wine glasses. It would have elevated the experience.
The dessert menu looked interesting, maybe next time đĽ˛
Overall, Tonkotsu Battersea is a friendly spot with great service. They have vegan and kids menus, and they're dog-friendly too! đ
PS From someone who cannot handle deep fried food: While I loved the sides, it would be nice to have some non-deep fried protein options on the menu. That said, I understand that maybe I'm not quite their...
Read moreWe came here for a late lunch and had to queue for about 10 mins before getting a table. The restaurant is very cosy and has limited seating. It has outside seating too but we sat inside as it was raining. The staff were friendly and polite and service was good. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed by the food. We ordered Tokyo ramen and chilli chicken ramen. We didn't like the noodles, they are too soft and are like Chinese egg noodles and not like ramen at all. The broth was also way too salty. The gyoza on the other hand wasn't too bad. The green tea is loose leaf tea rather than tea bag tea which is great, but the tea pot they serve it in is way too small, meaning there is too much tea making it too bitter. The restaurant is dog friendly and there were dogs inside, good news if you want to dine with your doggo friend, but take this into consideration if you have allergies or don't want to dine with animals. Their chili sauce is also worth mentioning, it is very flavourful without being spicy at all, great if you can't take hot food. These comments are my own taste and your mileage might vary, but I don't think I'll be coming back out of...

From the moment you step in, the warm, friendly atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The staff here are genuinely lovelyâattentive, welcoming, and passionate about making sure you have a great experience.
The real highlight, of course, is the food. Their Tokyo ramen is absolutely stellar. The broth is light yet packed with flavor, the noodles have the perfect bite, and the toppingsâthink tender pork, fresh greens, and a perfectly cooked eggâbring it all together beautifully. Itâs comfort in a bowl, and every spoonful is a delight.
Tonkotsu also serves up some fantastic sides. Their gyoza are crispy and flavorful, just what you want. Everything is made with such care and attention to detail, and it shows in every bite.
Whether youâre a ramen enthusiast or just someone who appreciates good food and good vibes, Tonkotsu is the kind of place that will keep drawing you back. Itâs a Battersea gem that...
