Dexters Maida Vale Estate Agents — Attraction in London

Avoid. Avoid if you want to save yourself the stress and a horrible experience. The worst, the worst, the worst state agency I ever dealt with. A bunch of unprofessional, Liars, dishonest, rude, and lousy people. Especially the director of the Maida Vale office I placed an offer on a rental property with the Maida Vale agency. They took my debit card details over the phone. They tried to get me to agree to pay more money.

A couple of hours later one of the agents called back and informed me that they spoke with the landlord and he asked if I could commit for 18 months to rent the property. I immediately agreed. The agent said they would call me back immediately. After hours of waiting, I have yet to hear back from them. I called back and found out that they were in the process of showing the property to more people to see if they could get more money for the property. I asked if the landlord had declined my offer and they answered no. I told them This is not fair. The agent holds my offer in one hand and tries to get a better offer from another hand. I contacted a few of Dexters’s directors. Not much help from the north office director either. He got me to offer the full asking price and still have not heard back from anyone. It has been a week. The apartment is still on the website. They still showing the property. I have not been told yet if my offer was accepted or declined. Just a bunch of liars, unprofessional, and awful people. The director of Maida Vale was very rude, very unprofessional, and unethical. Now when I see a property advertised by Dexters I don't even open the link. A very hurtful experience. They will make your life hell instead of helping you. They just care about...

Awful experience would not recommend. I instructed Dexters to sell my flat in Maida Vale earlier this year and the service was appalling. They turned up late to appointments, they didn't know the full details of my flat during showings which resulted in me having to chip in and correct the agents and they were also incredibly obnoxious. On top of all of this appointments repeatedly got booked in when I had asked them to briefly pause the marketing of my flat. The agents never returned calls and were sloppy with the paperwork - they sent me a document once I had received an offer and it was littered with errors. I don't understand how they can honestly think what they do justifies the extortionate commission they receive upon selling a property. I also was not informed several times when a person who I was told was dealing with the sale of my flat, left the company - such as Peter. There was no out of office and so my emails went unanswered for weeks until I called to enquire what had happened. I had to regularly chase the agent, Emira for updates from the buyers and my emails and calls went unanswered multiple times. Am I happy the flat got sold of course but the experience with Dexters was exhausting and unnecessary. They were supposed to make things easier but ended up being yet another headache in an already stressful process. Teach your agents that basic consistent communication...

We started working with Dexters through their corporate service department and Marcus and Jess were very helpful and gave us great instructions on how to move forward and were working by our side through the whole process. When searching we worked with Matthew Morgan from Maida Vale branch and it was a really great collaboration. He knew everything about the property and was ready to answer all our answers. He was very professional but at the same time friendly so the whole process felt very humane. Finally our property is also managed by Dexters and Soraya Perez is our Property Manager. She has been an excellent support, really good to guide us through steps, really helpful and very thoughtful as well. We had to change a few appliances in the house and she handled everything super quick and super smoothly. She is great at managing our expectations and liaising between us and the landlord.
