George's Fish Bar — Attraction in London

I normally refrain from leaving one star reviews, and to be honest, if I could leave Zero, I would, but I feel compelled to leave one now. My last night in London, I ordered Fish & Chips for my wife and I, along with a side of Calamari. The Fish was overbreaded, and the Fish & Chips tasted very bland w/ zero salt on it and tasted like burnt fryer oil. ON top of that, I ate the Calamari (my wife did not), and I spent the last 7 hours in London testing the plumbing in London as I was puking my guts out, so thanks so much for making my last night in London "unforgettable."

Icing on the cake was not being able to board our 9am Virgin Atlantic flight home as they would not board me since I still looked visibly sick and also threw up in their lounge bathroom. As a result, I had to take a later flight on Delta with my wife which led to a 6 hour layover at JFK in New York since everything got pushed back. So instead of getting home at 430pm local time, I got home at 11pm local time.....on top of spending an entire day in airports while sick.

Lastly, and this feels a bit entitled, but I don't care......I lost out on the entire Virgin Upper Class experience I payed for as I could not eat anything for over 24 hours meaning I could not eat anything in the Upper Class Lounge which is a highlight of our trips, along with no meals on the plane.....I did manage to eat a few grapes.

Hands down the WORST dining experience I have ever had and you all ruined Fish & Chips / Calamari for me as my stomach is still turning typing this review. The least you can do is refund my entire Uber Eats order which was...

Normally it's the go to place for us for a takeaway but after what we got last night I need to seriously consider my options. The food was late and once we sorted out what was what there was 5 of us it was cold and soggy not what you expect when you spend the amount of money we did. The taste of the dishes wasnt the same as buying it fresh the fish didnt taste right the chips were rock hard. The chicken which normally what I get what cold and the batter was falling off. My partner got scampi and chips and the kids got fish and chips and my friend got meat and chips and everyone of them had the same issues then we spent the night running in and out of the toilet this trend continued til the early hours. This has never happened before with George's so I was very surprised but not sure if I'm gonna use it again I phoned up to speak to someone and was told to deal with it. It's a shame because it's such a good fish shop and my boys love it but after last nights episode I'm not...

Good food and great taste!!!

Today was my first visit here, and I was very impressed with the staff and the service that I received. The staff are very welcoming, and there were a few regular customers before me and the staff delivered outstanding customer service.

I ordered fish and chips and the chef made the fish in front of me. Also, the chips are made when the order is placed, so your chips are fresh and hot when you are served.

Many fish and chips takeaway places pre-cook the chips, before an order is placed. So the chips do not taste as great.

Overall, the food is very good quality and it is served with great customer service. You also get good value for your money here, so I would recommend this place.
