Everything about the Hackney Hot Pod Yoga experience is amazing. Happily located next to London Fields the studio itself is bright, welcoming and full of upbeat vibes. In contrast the inflatable Hot Pod is all calm, relaxed and minimally lit, the perfect environment to practice yoga, especially if you're a newbie like I was when I signed up 9 months ago.
Having been discouraged by my limited experience of other types of yoga, I was immediately struck by how accessible and non intimidating HPY was. From the get go I felt comfortable and supported despite the initial physical challenges. The instructors are very skilled and inspiring both as yoga practitioners and as teachers, and at the same time are very easy going and friendly. This strikes a good balance that seems to allow HPY to cater well to a range of levels, from relative beginners like myself to the much more masterful yogis and yoginis. And to reiterate my previous point, this somewhat relaxed approach helps to make the experience much more accessible and takes the pressure off a bit especially if you're a beginner. It also reminds me of the words a wise man once said. "Too serious is not serious".
IMHO the only way to do yoga is hot, and I have no comparison of non hot versions. The advantages of a hot practice are well documented so I won't go into that here. I will say though that practicing HPY regularly made this last winter feel much less chilly than usual. I suppose this may continue to apply through the English version of summer too.
Without a word of exaggeration I can say that Hot Pod Yoga has changed my life in so many positive ways. The ease with which I found myself developing a frequent and committed yoga practice has been, quite frankly, astounding.
Finally, shouts to the dude in charge of the music programming. If you appreciate having the best cutting edge electronic music to accompany your hot yoga practice then this is most def THE...
Read moreEverything about Hotpod Yoga is absolutely brilliant. Brixton studio has variety of different classes to choose from & its teachers will always encourage you to practice in your own pace. With the heat turned up, classes have the ability to give your heart, lungs, and muscles even greater, more intense workout. My face was also glowing just after the first visit. I adore these blissfully designed yoga pods, the music & the beautiful calming colours.
I fell in love with the Mini Pod. Such a great experience to practice in your own little space, filled with aromatherapy mist. I used to practice in the class most of the time but arrived late once & a very kind lady said that I could do a mini pod class instead.
I recommend arriving at least five minutes earlier to allow time to settle in the class, temperature check takes two seconds :) The vibe is incredible positive, will definitely improve your mood.
The studio is spotlessly clean, you can tell right away that the management goes extra mile to do everything they can to make it safe during pandemic. The space is limited because of the social distancing rule so you have to book online which is a really quick & easy process using the HotpodYoga App. There is also a safe space to leave your bicycle inside the studio which I appreciated during the rainy days. When I left my cork yoga block by accident, I was able to get it back the next day. I hope I mentioned everything... oh don’t forget...
Read moreI started going to hotpod yoga following a recommendation by a friend. I have to say, I've now ditched my gym membership in favour of going to these sessions once a week. It's great for toning and relaxing after work. I'm lucky enough to finish work at 5pm and can be there for the 5.30 class, which I imagine is a bit less busy than other evening classes. The instructors have all been lovely, accommodating of different skill levels and mindful of injury/limitations (I have difficulty twisting following a back injury). They don't single you out in front of everyone (well, they ask you to raise a hand when everyone has their eyes closed, so it's annonymous), which I really like. I did struggle with the heat in the first couple, but as long as you hydrate during the day you'll be fine. This particular Hotpod venue is very clean, modern, friendly and has good facilities. They are very mindful of their hygiene and are willing to give tips and advice pre/post session. Cannot recommend...
