We attended the midday show, arriving at around 11.45am. Doors didn't open on time and when they did it took quite a while to be seated. There wasn't a very friendly welcome either. The security guard saw that the early teen girl in our party had a tub of sweets and he aggressively said they couldn't be taken into the show and would need to be left in the cloak room, she agreed. As we went to enter the security guard grabbed the sweets from the girl and told her off, but all we were trying to do was enter in order to put our stuff in the cloakroom. The cloakroom staff were pleasant and friendly.
Once inside we were directed to our table which was in a prime position in front of the fountain. One of us went to sit down and then realised that dip had been spilled down the side of the chair, must have been the day before, so showed that cleaning had not been done properly. When we told someone it was cleaned promptly but not a good start. The meze starter arrived shortly, the dips tasted good, the bread was nice but some of the bread sticks were overcooked and bitter. The greek salad was nice. We ran out of bread quickly and when we asked for more it was brought with no bother.
We were told that whenever we needed drinks just to let our waiter know, it seemed that he was the only one who could take our order. We ordered a round of drinks which came fairly swiftly. We were promised water for the table but that took a very long time.
When it came to the main course we had run out of drinks and hadn't seen the waiter for a while. We couldn't get anyone's attention. Half of our group were not drinking so we didn't want to order a package but we still wanted to order drinks as we went along. At the very least it would have been nice to enjoy a glass of wine during my meal and staff should have been told to check if guests needed drinks before the main dish came out. The main course was very tasty, the lamb and beef were very tender and the potatoes and veg were good. Coffee came with no milk and it was cold before we got it.
Throughout the meal plates were taken while we were still trying to eat, it just felt too rushed. The staff worked very hard but seemed stressed out. I guess there were not enough waiting staff for the number of guests and tables. Considering the cost of the tickets (£200+) I would have expected excellent service.
Towards the end the same door security guard was aggressively telling people off when he thought they were videoing the show, racing up to them, shouting. That's not a nice atmosphere.
Drinks were very expensive considering the price already paid for the tickets. I noticed that one of the red wines, a rioja crianza, was charged at 5 x (retail) price, which is pure greed. The cocktails didn't taste like they had much alcohol in them, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but they were also overpriced.
The decor and effects were very good. The story of the show was pretty flimsy but the performers were excellent with good voices and choreography. They interacted very nicely with the audience. Our table was very close to the fountain which we were grateful for initially but actually it was a little too close as we were constantly being given instructions about what we could and couldn't do. It would have been better if all the tables were a little further back to give the performers proper space but of course that would leave less space for high-paying customers.
It was absolutely not worth the money considering the issues I mentioned. I would usually write to the venue before posting a public review but I understand that the management do not care as they are making so much money anyway.
I really wanted to have the best time ever as it was a generous gift from my husband. As a group we did have fun - it was ABBA after all - but the experience was tainted by the attitude of security, the poor service by the over-worked waiting staff and generally feeling that we we being ripped off at every...
Read moreI was genuinely excited about this experience. When my job gave me the chance to spend a week in London, I eagerly accepted—mainly because I wanted to attend the Mamma Mia! Dinner Party. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be mediocre at best.
I purchased two Tier 2 tickets and was seated in the 30s section. Following instructions, I arrived at 6:30 PM to queue for entry using the name on the reservation. Upon entering, we were offered a glass of wine or a non-alcoholic option. That part went smoothly. However, it quickly became clear that dietary preferences and restrictions were not handled properly. I had indicated on the required dinner form that my sister is vegetarian and that I’m allergic to coconut, yet this information was evidently not communicated to the staff.
After the second course—though our table never received bread for the dips, which were supposed to be the first course—we were given Greek flags to indicate modified meals. However, nearly every person who approached our table still asked what the dietary issues were. Shouldn’t this information be communicated to the servers, assistants, and food runners in advance?
Security: The security team was excellent. They managed the crowd efficiently, ensuring everyone got inside quickly. Once inside, they were visible and helpful, even assisting guests who needed to cross the stage.
Food: I wish I had eaten beforehand. While I understand Greek food is traditionally served family-style, allergies and dietary restrictions should be taken more seriously. The shared plates were problematic—especially since strangers at our table were double-dipping. No one could confirm what the vegetarian option was, and we suspected it might even contain meat. I ended up splitting the vegetarian dish with my sister just to avoid the shared plates, but she stopped eating after discovering a meat-like ingredient. Dessert was apparently good, but since every option included coconut, I was given a bowl of berries instead.
Service: Service in our section was disappointing. It felt like the servers and assistants were either new or poorly trained. We didn’t receive bread for our dips until after the salad was served. It took 45 minutes to place a drink order, and getting a second round was nearly impossible since the surrounding staff repeatedly said they weren’t “those kinds of servers.” Meanwhile, we watched staff in other sections, like the 20s, deliver attentive and seamless service. When my berries were finally delivered, the runners didn’t know where to place them and left them next to the tub of dirty dishes. It was unsanitary and reflected a serious lack of communication.
The Show: This was the highlight of the evening. The performance was energetic, engaging, and built momentum in an impressive way. Just when you thought they had peaked, the cast would outdo themselves again. I would absolutely attend another performance—if they changed the overall format.
I understand this is a large-scale production, but it’s clear that management has not adequately trained the staff. For $200 per person, I expected better service and at least a satisfying meal. I would have preferred a more affordable ticket with the option to add on food separately. As it stands, the value simply...

The 'Party' experience begins outside the venue with an extremely lengthy queue in the shopping centre of the 02. When you get into the venue you are greeted with yet more queues until you make it into the event space where you feel like you can barely move with people trying to find their tables / grab a welcome drink which is the cheapest tasting prosecco drink you can imagine.
Once we were seated I already knew that the table we were allocated wasn't the best but nothing could be done as it was a full house. Situation under the balcony and in the corner of the room we where barely interacted with during the show or by any cast members as they mingled around the venue instead we just saw cast members popping into the quick change area situation just behind us making us feel like we were in some sort of Primark changing room.
The food is average and absolutely not worth the ticket price. We didn't receive our starters before the show started and then they got dumped on our table with the main course. If Fatty lamb or cold beef is something you enjoy then the food will be right up your street. The drinks menu is fairly pricey and you can tell the staff are wanting you to buy more and more which you think may be them being attentive until you receive the bill and realise that a percentage of your bill is charged as a service charge. I.e the more they sell the more they get in service charge. I couldn't believe a service charge was applied given the cost of the tickets.
The show storyline is absolutely terrible, nothing relating to the films in the slightest and a script that could have been written by a bunch of primary school kids, if even feels like the cast know this and aren't really enjoying themselves, the performances are laboured and they quite frankly look bored. The cast have clearly been directed to perform to the expensive seats in the venue again adding to the table I was on not feeling part of the party. The song choices are interesting as they save the ABBA classics until the 3rd act which is essentially a concert but each song feels like it's given 30 seconds before moving onto the next.
Following the performance the bar remains open to strip what pennies you might have left whilst they play ABBA music in what is a glorified disco. I didn't pay to hear tracks I wanted to hear it live in the room.
It's worth bearing in mind that at an average ticket price of £200 and I guess around 500 guests that's a ticket income of £100,000 per performance. Before any merchandise / drinks or service charges. This is making a killing for someone but they are certainly not providing the experience that it deserves.
If you want an abba experience, book tickets to the musical and treat yourself to a nice greek restaurant before you go. Probably cheaper and a much better performance than Mama...
