My daughter become a bit too old ish but she still likes this little park next to pond. A bit funny thing about this park is the toilet. Kids only toilet. Considering the Adult toilet is a good 5 mins walk on the other side of pond, I do understand the safety of children etc but , this toilet situation put me off using this park especially a little park cafe locates next to it. Temptation is huge. There is the same lady watching with hawk eyes ( for years it seems to be same lady) so that adults not using toilet while kids are going in the toilet. But what if they are too young to do toilet herself??? yes in the past I sneaked in... Apart from the particular issue, I have been the park several times and considering it is a middle of central London, it is a benefit to have a nice play area for primary and nursery age children. There is slides, swings, sand pit with rocks, benches, seasaw(?). Many benches and trees so even sunniest day there would some shades...
Read moreWhat a joy to find such a lovely spot just minutes away from the big ben and Buckingham Palace. The playground is secured with one exit, overlooking the lake. There is a toilet with an attendant that makes sure only young children can go in the toilets. Just outside there is a coffee shop with hot dogs and creps and of course ice cream. Really enjoyed and came back after a couple of days again. BEWARE near the musical stepping squares there is a VERY slippery pavement. lots of children slipped down and my son had a massive nose bleed. Will contact local council to replace pavement to a more anti-slipping pavement. The sand from the nearby sandpit makes it a hazard...
