Fantastic little gem in St James Park. A must visit if you have children. It has a large sand pit a music square your child can jump on each square and hear different sounds.A rope bridge climbing blocks slide see saw etc....it also has toilets for children with an attendant who will only unlock if you have a child. We went on a rainy day so used the loos to change the boys as they got soaked through. Adjoining the play area is a cafe (no seating) where you can get hot and cold drinks and snacks. There is a bench seat in the kiddies park for parents to sit. A brilliant place to round off a day with kids. Map attached. Near Buckingham palace

Brought my little cousins to St James park on a day out while visiting London, they have kiddy bathroom facilities next to the park. This woman is running the kiddy bathrooms however swearing like crazy, loud as could be, on the telephone. Therefore I, along with other parents, got concerned. I attempted to kindly ask her to keep it down as there is children about. However she started shouting and swearing at me, when I was with my little cousins. This kind of behaviour is not acceptable around children or at all. I am completely in disbelief that St James Park don’t vet employees, especially working around children!!

Beautiful little playground where our daughter spent over an hour here. It was a nice little reprieve when sightseeing Central London. If we let her I think she would have played for hours. She especially liked the slide area and the rope bridges there. There is a lot to do for kids in this playground including swings, a slide, sand to play with (and a lot more). Right outside the gates there is a coffee stand and across the street there was a band practice going on. The park nearby features squirrels which are also a nice distraction for the kids.

My daughter become a bit too old ish but she still likes this little park next to pond. A bit funny thing about this park is the toilet. Kids only toilet. Considering the Adult toilet is a good 5 mins walk on the other side of pond, I do understand the safety of children etc but , this toilet situation put me off using this park especially a little park cafe locates next to it. Temptation is huge. There is the same lady watching with hawk eyes ( for years it seems to be same lady) so that adults not using toilet while kids are going in the toilet. But what if they are too young to do toilet herself??? yes in the past I sneaked in... Apart from the particular issue, I have been the park several times and considering it is a middle of central London, it is a benefit to have a nice play area for primary and nursery age children. There is slides, swings, sand pit with rocks, benches, seasaw(?). Many benches and trees so even sunniest day there would some shades...

What a joy to find such a lovely spot just minutes away from the big ben and Buckingham Palace. The playground is secured with one exit, overlooking the lake. There is a toilet with an attendant that makes sure only young children can go in the toilets. Just outside there is a coffee shop with hot dogs and creps and of course ice cream. Really enjoyed and came back after a couple of days again. BEWARE near the musical stepping squares there is a VERY slippery pavement. lots of children slipped down and my son had a massive nose bleed. Will contact local council to replace pavement to a more anti-slipping pavement. The sand from the nearby sandpit makes it a hazard...
