Fantastic outdoor sauna. They have 3 wood fired saunas in different styles, excellent temperature controlled cold plunges and open air showers.

The team at Hackney Community sauna have done an excellent job with this outpost in Stratford. I slightly prefer the venue here, with its great layout and the surrounding trees and buildings.

There are lockers (You need to bring your own padlock), 5 changing booths as well as 6 spaces to lock your bike up inside the venue.

Bring your own towels or rent them for a modest surcharge on arrival. Daytime "off-peak" sessions (until 17:00) are particularly good value.

Free herbal tea is supplied in a samovar, as well as chilled water to help you stay hydrated during the session.

During the sessions (and on request) they bring in crushed ice with essential oils that they can put on the sauna rocks for a wonderful, relaxing steam infusion which really adds to the experience.

Worth considering membership for regular attendees, this gives you 50% off entry for each session and costs...

A few months ago, I had to cancel a booking at short notice due to my partner falling ill. As regular visitors to both Hackney Wick and Stratford Community Saunas, we were disappointed to be told that rebooking wasn’t possible because it was within 24 hours of the session.

I completely understand the need for policies, but given the circumstances and knowing that the slots have waiting lists, I hoped for a little more flexibility, especially from a community-focused business. We weren’t asking for a refund, just the chance to rebook for another day.

We’ve really enjoyed our visits in the past, which is why we chose to come back and support a local small business. I hope there is a fair resolution that can be made as we would like to continue...
