We were searching for a venue for our reception that was intimate, unique, and capable of accommodating 60 guests. We also hoped for somewhere local to us, well connected to public transport and reasonably priced.
The moment we set foot on Eel Pie Island, we felt we were on the right path. The island has a fascinating history and Twickenham Rowing Club is perfectly located along a peaceful backwater of the Thames. It offered just what we were hoping for.
The club itself has a wonderful, rustic charm and an undeniably atmospheric setting. The facilities functioned well for our event and contributed to the venue’s unique appeal. The two terraces provided beautiful views of the Thames, and the well-stocked bar added to the relaxed, welcoming environment.
Our event managers, Andy and Emma, were incredibly helpful, offering practical suggestions and going the extra mile to ensure the day ran smoothly—from the layout of tables for dining to the arrangement of seating for our ceremony. The bar manager, Teagan, led her team with great professionalism, ensuring our guests were well taken care of throughout the event.
We left with wonderful memories, and our guests were equally impressed by the venue's character and facilities. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for helping us create such a...
Read moreWhat a fantastic venue to hold a party! I recently held a birthday party at this amazing venue and cannot thank Andy and the team enough. We had a perfect evening and were so well looked after. Amy and the bar staff were outstanding, welcoming, fun and efficient. Andy was very cooperative and did not mind me asking him about a million questions beforehand. He was always available, responded quickly and nothing was too much hassle for Andy and his team. It was a beautiful evening, so we were able to use the outside space as well. The decorations and lights inside were also lovely, so that we did not have to bring much of our own. I was delighted with how the party went, so thank you very much and I would highly recommend this venue...

I’m at Walbrook now and loving it - so friendly, inclusive, the water is perfect, stunning views and have raced more in two months than I did in three years at Twickenham RC. Others left for Molesey and Kingston too.
Check out the main function room, there’s no celebration of women rowers though they’ve been part of this club for 30 years - all white straight males. Says it all really and that’s only the icing...
