Loyal House of Fraser customer for past 30 years. From young budget-conscious student to comfortable middle aged woman, have always loved everything about it. Staff, customer service, after-sales, merchandise, company history & ethos. So terribly sad to have walked into what felt like it’s death throes at the weekend. Limited stock being sold off at discount price to a largely grasping & tearing pack of vultures. Not a pretty sight. In fact, bloody heartbreaking to see respect, politeness & dignity replaced by brash Black Friday cheapness. Couldn’t bear to be part of the undignified pack, so tried to fight my way out as quickly as I could. On my struggle towards the exit doors, the last I saw & heard was a loud, Liverpudlian heavily made up temp repeatedly belittle an older customer “ Do you mind not opening the pack! Other people don’t want your hands to have been on that powder compact case. I’m only working here for the sale period but I’ve had enough of people like you”. Older lady very apologetic, politely trying to explain she hadn’t opened the compact case, just the box as she’d wanted to check it wasn’t simply a refill. Loud temp disdainfully interrupting. With contemptuous look, shouted repeatedly “people dont want your hands to have been on that case” Older woman visibly upset, close to tears. As I was jostled towards the exit door this was my parting experience of a store I’d so loved over many, many years. Shan’t ever set foot in the place again. House of Fraser, and everything it stood for, has obviously died a death. Just wish I could un-see & un-feel it’s tragic death throes. Thanks for the wonderful memories of the past 40 years House of Fraser. May you now...
Read moreI found the staff to be very unprofessional at the Ralph Lauren department here. There was a small bald Camp white guy with a goatee and an Asian guy with a goatee also were whispering to each other in regards to trying to get me to sign up to there credit card scheme and were making up random deals and prices and giving each other eye signs and signals that they thought I didn't notice and were not very good basically trying it on. I bought two sweaters and a polo shirt and because I spent a bit they were whispering to each other about basically ripping me off. The black girl that works there was very helpful and professional the other two were very different and very unprofessional I will lot be returning to this picticuler department but I do like Ralph Lauren clothes just won't be buying from here again. Selfridges staff Ralph Lauren department near the shambles Square is a lot more professional and pleasant. I came in to the store to buy stuff anyway I didn't need to be ripped off and if they got commission they didn't deserve it the girl was a lot better these other two guys are a disgrace. I understand that they have to try and sell but the way they were carrying it out put me off completely and they were that daft to think I didn't notice even an another customer looked at me and we both laughed together at the way the were talking to each...
Read moreHouse of Fraser Manchester I am beyond shocked by the poor customer service from a manager in ladies clothing. Apparently they no longer give refunds on items purchased, not even if you try to return on the same day. As soon as I tried to explain to the manager that I was not aware of the change of their return policy, she raised her voice and addressed me saying 1 “Listen, we don’t have to explain anything to you 2 The law does not require us to tell you anything 3 It’s up to you to find out what our policy is and comply. 4 You’ve been told what our policy is, what do you want me to do about it?
I asked her not to raise her voice at me and not to address with “listen”
However, she carried on talking, I patiently listened to her whilst she ranted at me, after she had finished, I attempted to speak agin, but she rudely interrupted me again.
In an extremely calm voice I said to her, I did not once interrupt you while you were speaking, I would appreciate the same level of courtesy please. To which she replied, again with her voice raised “go on, go on then” she repeated this a number of times.
This is beyond unacceptable service, I will never go...
