Ordered a pair of OTG Dragon Goggles as I'm shortly off to Finland in a couple of days time for some Artic adventure fun - opened the package to find a bashed box inside which has very obviously been opened before as both plastic security tags have been cut through with NO GOGGLES INSIDE - just a spare lens and the bag.. and as usual you try to call and no chance of actually getting a real person to answer on either "press 1. 2 or 3 !" Will now have to try and find some goggles elsewhere at very short notice and extra delivery costs whilst LD Mountain finally get round to reading my customer service email at their own convenience

I recently purchased ski boots from this store, and I can't express enough how exceptional the service was, thanks to John! His expertise and dedication stood out as he made all the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit. What amazed me even more was that I didn't even prebook an appointment; John went above and beyond to provide top-notch assistance. The personalized service I received truly made my shopping experience outstanding. Kudos to John and the entire team for their commitment to customer satisfaction

Great store with a decent variety of gear. Ondo a lot of climbing and they had everything I was looking for. Slightly limited helmet selection and they could not order in the helmet I wanted, I would have preferred to buy in store instead of through a competitor. Still friendly staff and clued up on the products. I will definitely support them in the future.

I’ve used the LD Mountain Centre for years and have never had a bad experience. The staff in the shop are knowledgeable, extremely helpful and offer sound advice; they don’t make you buy something you don’t need, even if it means you’d end up spending less money in store.

I’ve read some of the negative reviews on Google and they’re all rather unfair.

For example, if you’re going to purchase a gift and want it in time for Christmas, maybe purchase it sooner than three days beforehand (the review was written 22/12/22 so I’m assuming that’s when the reviewer ordered). Most websites suggest you order at least a week before if you want guaranteed Christmas delivery.

Those of you saying you should’ve taken notice of negative reviews, should perhaps have done a little more research. Yes, LD have a on-line store - what choice do they have in the current market - but, this is a one shop, small business which doesn’t run on the same basis as chains like Go Outdoors or The North Face. You simply cannot expect the same speed of on-line service as you would with a much larger business; It’s the staff in the shop you’ll be speaking to when you call (not a huge customer service team). What if they are serving other customers who are actually in the shop? Have you thought of that? These reviews are just another example of the fact many people won’t wait for anything anymore. Personally, I’d rather wait longer for an order and support a small business.

LD Mountain Centre do use Royal Mail - they aren’t lying. My Mum’s order (which she placed on 27/12/22) is arriving today (29/12/22) via Royal Mail. Note the two day delivery folks!

As for moaning about hiking boots not fitting and needing to return them, use your common sense; you need to physically go to a shop to buy hiking boots. Why? You need an expert (like those you’ll find at the LD Mountain Centre) to help you decide which are best for you and if they fit properly. You don’t want blisters do you?

Avoid unless you are willing to waste your time and money. I ignored other bad reviews and put an order in on the 7th of December. I ordered a NorthFace jacket, found this place had sale price compared to NorthFace own website. My husband ordered similar item directly from NorthFace for himself on the same day. He received his item on the 10th. I have not received my order from this seller yet as of 16th. They sent me a shipping information on the 12th via DPD. No delivery came for 4 days. I contacted DPD. DPD claims that they never actually received the parcel. DPD said LD Mountain centre generated shipping information without actually shipping the product. I called LD Mountain Centre 5 times today. Can’t get through. After a minute of music, an automated message says they are too busy and tells you to call later and hangs up. I emailed them querying location of the parcel. I received email back in 20 minutes reiterating my tracking number with DPD (which I already know) and told me to check with DPD. So, it sounds like they took money (money went out of my account on the 8th, swiftly the day after order), I paid for 4-5 day tracked delivery (Ā£4.99) despite my order being qualified for free shipping because I need the jacket for travel over Christmas, the parcel has not been actually sent out from their warehouse 9 days later. Will I ever receive it? The courier says the seller didn’t give them actual parcel yet. The seller is not interested in checking if they actually sent it out. Either way, now I need to buy a jacket locally with full price anyway for my upcoming trip. My advice for any potential customer, please do not ignore other people’s reviews like I did, I was arrogant and didn’t think it would happen to me and was just hoping for the best and thought supporting independent business would be good idea while buying produce slightly cheaper…. Don’t be an...

I wanted to write / post a review having read some of the earlier ( negative) reviews that have been posted.

Ultimately, It is an informed decision as to whether or not you would wish to purchase an item from this seller. I purchased a Mountain Equipment Annapurna Jacket, which is quite a high ticket item. LD Mountain advertised the jacket at a good price compared to a number of other on line retailers; a saving of over Ā£130.00. Prior to ordering, I also carried out some on line research, in particular the reviews that had been posted, such as Sasha from London that highlighted a number of concerns. However, I looked into the history of the company and the fact that LD Mountain was both well established with a permanent site / shop in Newcastle. Further the ā€œnegativeā€ reviews appeared ( to me) to mainly be concerned with a lack of communication from the Seller and a myriad of ā€œITā€ issues; whilst I might be mistaken no purchaser was suggesting that they had lost money ( save for the additional costs of returning items). I therefore placed the Order for the Jacket and received confirmation of the Order. I received an email on Wednesday from DPD the Courier that they were awaiting the item from the seller and would provide an update. I received confirmation from DPD that the item would be delivered today and the courier delivered the consignment within the allotted time that had been specified for delivery, before Xmas. The Item is in excellent condition. For those of you whom are still undecided or concerned as to whether or not to purchase an item from this Seller having read the earlier reviews, I hope that by sharing my experience in this review it might provide some balance....
