The whole place is now an area of rapid modern housing development. The stone circles are making a slightly sad and anachronistic impression. The overgrown long natural grass does not really help shaking the impression that they look almost artificial. The housing developments are all brand new and the architects did a good job shaping a very modern looking landscape. There is likely more development coming in the future, I suppose. Read moreThis stone circle, erected by the city in 1978, is officially the first one built in Great Britain in several millennia. I'm very pleased with this city initiative; I'm not surprised that it's in Scotland that stone circles are being revived.
