The whole place is now an area of rapid modern housing development. The stone circles are making a slightly sad and anachronistic impression. The overgrown long natural grass does not really help shaking the impression that they look almost artificial. The housing developments are all brand new and the architects did a good job shaping a very modern looking landscape. There is likely more development coming in the future, I suppose. Access is enirely free. The paths in the area are all very smooth paved roads - ideal for bicyles. The "rusty bridge" over the M8 leads pedestriants straight into the outskirts of the city centre.

This stone circle, erected by the city in 1978, is officially the first one built in Great Britain in several millennia. I'm very pleased with this city initiative; I'm not surprised that it's in Scotland that stone circles are being revived. It's quite beautiful, and I'm pleased to know that people are trying to reconnect with ancient traditions. Furthermore, the fact that it's located in a city allows different types of people to be interested in the subject. Ancient or modern, a stone circle remains a place of peace and reunion, as long as the intentions are right. Enjoy your visit and don't forget the singing stone.

It's one of them interesting spots that most tourists and travellers don't often explore. It's literally 20 minutes walking distance from Glasgow. This is a quiet area, lovely place to have some time to sit and think about life or to let your mind get carried away about where these stones came from and why they're in this circle. Worth a visit if you want to see something unique 😊
