Where to begin with The Little Royal Cafe in Glasgow? First and foremost, the approach to the cafe is breathtaking, thanks to its location within a stunning historical building adorned with a majestic clock tower. It feels like stepping into a piece of history, with the promise of amazing coffee!
Speaking of the coffee, it truly stands in a league of its own when compared to mainstream options like Starbucks and Costa. They consistently serve coffee that is perfectly smooth, rich, and at an ideal temperature (I am a total fusspot with coffee so this is VERY important to me)—a stark contrast to other establishments where the coffee can often taste overbrewed, bitter or vary in temperature to the point of detriment. The girls have mastered the art of coffee preparation to deliver a flawless experience every time no matter who serves me. THANK YOU!
The staff are lovely and welcoming, contributing significantly to the overall warmth of the cafe's atmosphere. The interior is great, offering a peaceful and inviting environment that complements the excellent service. Additionally, the cafe thoughtfully provides spaces where I can easily plug in my laptop and connect to the Wi-Fi, making it an ideal spot for Friday "work" sessions accompanied by delicious coffees and lunch.
I have spent many delightful Fridays "working" in here, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. For those seeking a venue with character, unparalleled coffee, and a warm welcome that feels genuinely heartening, do not pass by The Little Royal Cafe. Drop in, and you'll find yourself becoming a regular, enamored by its charm and quality. Just be warned, you might find it difficult to return to your usual coffee place after experiencing what this cafe has to offer! It truly sets a new standard and is no comparison.
Thanks guys and see you...
Read moreSo this was my first time visiting this place, I came with a good friend of mine who recommended it.
Let me first start with my order. I ordered the Mocha, and usually I like an extra pack of sugar/sweetener, but alas, this Mocha was probably the best I have ever tasted, and I don’t say that lightly, usually I can find something that needs improvement but I cannot in this case. I will definitely be back, and I recommend it to anyone that’s looking for something other than starbucks lol
Now, let me move on to a bit of context surrounding my visit. I visited with my good friend so we could sit quietly and discuss a few things; as we were discussing, we happened to begin discussing a difficult topic (to which one of the baristas overheard whilst cleaning). This pretty young lady came back with a cookie as a gesture as she overheard the conversation and I think she felt empathetic to the situation.
Honestly, in my 26yrs on this planet, I’ve not been fortunate enough to meet somebody as kind as this young lady to selflessly give me some gesture try to make me feel better (even though she didn’t know me). It made me tear up a bit lol.
I hope you see this and see how much your gesture meant to me. Thank...
Read moreHad popped in for a few hot drinks and cakes to take back upstairs. Wasn't expecting the selection on sale, we (I) settled on pistachio bun, cinnamon bun and carrot cake, the helpful and friendly staff recommend the buns warmed, they heated them for us and with a massive box we left the lovely atmosphere of the cafe to eat and drink our buys, wasn't until I was on my way out I noticed the selection of savories. I can't speak for what my friends drank but I really enjoyed my hot chocolate, none of your cheap powder stuff, this was thick and rich and devoured within minutes. The buns and carrot cake were tasty, so much I had left over cake for my breakfast the following morning and it was still moist and yummy. I did have a coffee the following morning and it came with brown sugar so kudos there. We done take away but I'm looking forward to coming again and sitting in. The staff were so lovely and we left with...
