Original review: For some reason they never have the full menu. It's also a bit expensive for the food they serve. Nice place but a little off for few things.

Edited: Adding a star on the original review because I like that they responded to my original one. I wanted to explain better what I think about the food, because I didn't explain myself at all. I've been there 3 times recently and they never had the full menu, and they explained why (issues with suppliers, which is pretty common at the moment). The prices are very good, that is true. Most of the menus include a free drink. You can easily eat and drink with less than 10£. But I think that they could do better with the portions and the quality of the food. The burgers, the chips and the fish are on the small side, and nothing special. There are pubs in city center which offer a much better quality at a just slightly higher price. Anyway, the place is nice, staff is helpful, they show sports on tv and even kindly agreed to change to the match I would have liked on the tv next to me. They have a room for playing games and a beer garden, which wasn't open for the weather but I think it's a great thing. Overall I would recommend the place, but think they can improve and get...

Great wee pub, my family & I are always in and have been coming for years. All the staff are brilliant especially Fiona who is just the best!!!

Unfortunately though Adam (I think his name is) needs some training in how to speak to customers. Came today (18/3/25) for breakfast (there would have been 9 of us) but first had to deliver parcels at the Evri locker adjoining the building. Couldn’t get parked as there was a delivery lorry there. Quickly parked up on the pavement within the car park and Adam came out shouting that I couldn’t park there and that the car park was for customers only. A really rude and dismissive attitude. I also have a parking disabled badge. I told him I was using the locker but he ignored me and walked away so didn’t get the chance to tell him we actually were customers! I drove out to park elsewhere until the lorry left but Adam shut the car parking gate after we drove out. Really odd behaviour and put us off coming in. Me and my family ended up going elsewhere for breakfast and...

The Howgait offers a cozy ambiance and a classic atmosphere, perfect for unwinding with friends or enjoying a pint after a long day. The presence of a pool table adds to the entertainment value, providing patrons with an opportunity for friendly competition. With a selection of traditional Scottish fare and a variety of beverages to choose from, this pub provides a memorable experience for locals and visitors alike. Additionally, the pub hosts regular pub quizzes, adding an element of fun and intellectual stimulation for guests. Whether you’re a trivia aficionado or just looking for a good time, the quiz nights provide a lively atmosphere and a chance to test your knowledge while enjoying a drink with friends.

Nice and cozy place to take a sip and get some side dishes, watching football match with friends. Large parking area behind the shop for customers. The outdoor beer garden is lovely for the sunshine day if you can find. My favourite menu are the 30 pcs BBQ chicken wings, narchos and tower of onion rings. They also have a nice live music after dinner. Get the student card for the selected discounted drinks.

Thank you a Courtney for making our lunch so welcoming and lovely! We were fortunate to come here on a warm, sunny Saturday and enjoy the special where you get to choose two drinks and several small plates. All were delicious. We especially enjoyed the wings and the corn dogs. Atmosphere is great and on a nice sunny day, you can sit outside as well. Great selection of beers on draft and friendly staff.
