Loved it in here ..finished a day trip off nicely ..2p slots and £1 a grab ( for prize tickets) kept the kids from getting too cranky about the journey home ! Not too busy but plenty to do ...and can play all the slots as there are only prize tickets to be won ...the excitement of a machine chugging out tickets was only equaled by the screams earlier on the Pleasure Beach ! These are then collected and fed into a "Ticket Eater" which then issues a total ticket coupon then its over to the ever so patientPrize Kiosk Assistants who will help you spend every last point or as near as possible ..no matter how long you take to decide ..in our case 4 people were served before the last 44 points were spent!! Only drawback is you need to keep hold of 20p pieces for the loo Male and Female toilets have a 20p charge through a turnstile so be warned !! Silcocks Amusements is the best place to go once the Pleasure Beach has closed and you have eaten tea and are not quite ready go end the day ...a massive shout out to The Sandgrounder Fish and Chip Takeaway and Restaraunt Neville Street ( up a steep flight of stairs to eat in) beautiful fresh fish and all cooked to order and really competive price too ..sat in a nice upstairs space with clean toilets friendly staff and a good view of the Promenade ..two hungry kids fed ..our feet rested ..its over the road to Silcocks ..two hours and pockets emptied we are on our way back to the car and homeward bound ..see you again soon Southport ..very clean streets and beach and freindly people...we will be back for the Fireworks...

Sorry for this one star review but go to Funland if you want to be transported to the stoneage. They have very very old claw machines that don't give you a fair chance to grab any toys. Funland needs to update with modern new claw machines that are brighter and have higher chances of winning. All the other machines and games are also very very dated from the 1970s or something. Please get rid of this junk!! In other arcades over at Blackpool they have some of the modern claw machines that actually work and are fun to play and don't just take your money. The modern ones also have a joy stick instead of the old forward and side buttons. You get to control the claw as many times as you want within 60secs not just press once and the claw automatically goes down. If you go to Tokyo or anywhere in Japan they have the best claw machines in the world and endless methods of winning not just grab a toy. They know how to do business over there. FYI probably because gambling is illegal in Japan hence their machines have higher odds. Funland unfortunately is still stuck in the 1960s.....needs major major investment. Not a fun place to go with all the very old boring machines, very very unimaginative and really dragging Southport down. I suggest the boss of Funland to take a trip to Akihabara in Tokyo and see for him/herself how well an arcade...

Always keeps me and children busy. My 2 year old say a teddy she wanted so I tried and tried to get this (obs a rigged machine everyone knows that) staff saw me for a good 45 mins whilst my daughter was shouting every time the teddy fell or if we had to go get money she would get upset. My own fault this next bit I ended up putting £53. YES 53 in this machine hoping that maybe ONCE it would work. In the end the man opened another machine and got a different teddy out telling me we can’t have the one she wanted but a smaller different one. She was still happy with what she got but £53 for a little teddy is a bit eh. Been in coral island and they have no problem with taking stuff out to help you especially with children.

Have to pay to use toilet, use the 2p machines and you get no prizes, food is meh, toilets gross anyway, old fashioned. Seems all about getting as much money as they can and they definitely did out of me. I’ve learnt my...

Went to get out for a few hours. Kids love the arcade. Very friendly staff, my daughter left her phone on a machine and one of the workers came looking for her. I also saw another one searching for someone who had left something else behind. Had ice cream and doughnuts from outside. There's a little train that leaves from outside for a short journey, about 15 minutes, that's only a couple of pounds each. There was live entertainment around the back of the building in the seated area. There's a large play area, a boating lake, mini golf, and a funfair, but I think that only opens weekends and school holidays. Parking is usually a bit hard to find close by, I think there are large car parks a bit further up, not very far

Big rip off! Arcades were always a bit shady in their returns but nothing like the arcades of the 80s-00’s which were actually fun trying.. now only win rubbish tickets that earn you nothing in the shop, quickest way to loose £9 in 15 minutes No decent arcade machines just those grabber machines and 2p coin pushers ( with no toys inside ) that are obviously fixed. 50p to £1 each go on most machines, it’s really poor that they are still conning families in the cost of livingcrisis, I know it’s a business but if you want fun just avoid this place, old decrepit machines that eat you money and leave you dumbfounded waste of effort!

A lovely touch of nostalgia! This galloper set was built in 1901 by Savages of Kings Lynn, whilst the organ was built by Gavioli of Paris. Originally steam driven, of course, it was purchased by the Silcock family in 1989 and restored over a period of three years. The three cockerels and the horses on the inside of the ride are original carvings whilst the remainder of the 33 horses are copies. £2 per ride doesn’t seem too expensive given the cost of maintaining this beautiful piece. PS. Why are people leaving poor reviews about food for a Victorian fairground attraction?
