Thirteen is a real must do in Alton Towers, one of the parks' best offerings, but it's a shame it's short. The initial ride is very thrilling, with enough dips and dives, and then it seems to be over in a flash. The one thing I can say about this ride that is rare in Alton Towers is that it's very smooth, not uncomfortable in the slightest. Then you enter the ride building at the end and a hidden surprise drops your stomach! You're shot out backwards for a very unique ride in the dark. If you're a coaster nerd, sitting in the front means that you see the track switch. Why not ask if you can sit in the front?

Thrill Factor: 7/10 Age Suitable Range: 10+ years Theming: 7/10 Ride length to average queue time ratio: 7/10 Worth fast tracking: Yes As Thirteen is one of Alton Tower Resort flagship secret weapons the actual main part of the ride happens when you least expect it, it will surprise you and scare you. That's all we can say! All reviews are given as a personal opinion and do not give as factual representation of ride facts or statistics.

The lap bar added to the scare factor but actually this was not too bad. The drop midway was impressive and overall worth a ride but wait till the end of the day for quickest queue time.

I’m 10 years old and I went here with my best friend and my parents. I’ve always been scared of rollercoasters and that day I started with Runaway Mine Train and I thought it was a little boring but I liked it. I had recently watched Wickerman Beornen adverts and I was hyped for it to open, so I decided to go on it. I was very scared, but I went on it. I absolutely loved it, and I was laughing the whole time with my hands up. I got off and obviously my adrenaline was pumping, so I made it to the dark forest before I felt scared again. The queue was only 5 minutes (I assume it was because of The Wickerman recently opening at the time) so I went through the queue line which was, I must admit, amazingly themed. Only problem is on busy days, standing under Rita for that long would be annoying and probably deafening. Then, I got in the cart and went. It was amazing! As soon as I got off, I went back through the queue line and went back through. I don’t understand why there was once supposed to be an age limit and a waiver. It may have been to add hype to it or something. But, it is described as the first ever psychoaster but isn’t oblivion based off fear, too? I don’t understand what fears though. Superstition? Then again, it’s not a fear. It’s it’s own branch, really. If anyone knows, tell me! Anyway, it’s great for a first big...

The ride is absolutely spot on! It's fast and fun! Also, the queue inside the crypt, where you board the train, is actually very well themed (not the one outside though). I would object to the fact that this ride is deemed a family coaster. It's actually very fast! The "infamous" vertical drop in the crypt is meant to be the scariest part, but actually it isn't that bad! What is really scary is the very first drop, it is so fast and long! I was actually caught out...
