Well worth a visit to all the professionally laid out museums, each one being unique in their own way. All staff were so friendly , helpful and knowledgeable a big thank you to all of them. Whilst it was horrendous that there were 95,000 lost at the Battle of Waterloo, it is put into perspective nowadays by the loss of over 254,000 Russians in Ukraine presently. A theme running through the exhibits was when a conflict or war needed our British involvement, was how unprepared and lack equipment this country was, due to the lack of political will to spend money on our military. If you want to know more about these regiments or just more about the battle of Waterloo with the museum audio visual reenactment of the battle. Starting on the top floor you go on a journey of discovery from the formation of the Rifles (remember Sharpe) in the 1800's through both world wars and the Northern Ireland conflict all the way to Iraq and Afghanistan. I for one recognised some of the people I served with on the roll of honour of thous killed in service to this country.
