Read moreThe market is great. The deli experience wasn’t. I’m just posting this as a precaution in case anyone else feels the same way. I noticed when I was checking out the cashier rang my card and didn’t give me back my card, but instead put it on her register but flipped it so that my information on my card was exposed. The camera was above her and it made me very suspicious and question why would she flip my card over and not just give me my card back right away? Are they going to look at the camera footage later and screen shot my card info and steal from me??? If not, it’s not a good practice/ habit for the cashier to be flipping peoples card and having their information exposed for the camera to see as well as the customers next in line to pay. If anything does happen with my card regarding funds being stolen, I will file a police report and have this place investigated because I found this experience really suspicious and left me uneasy. Also, the fish I got was really dry, not hot and tasted old. Also no dipping sauce...
Read moreLucky Market is truly a deeply hidden gem just off the airport on Artic in Anchorage.. Quaint little Asian Supermarket with a well hidden deli (2 meats & rice or noodles Asian Style) in the back left corner. Those ladies are either the sweetest you ever met or the rudest you’ll meet but either way they are going to PILE HIGH a plate of food that even a sumo wrestler couldn’t finish in one sitting. Don’t miss the noodles or the pork belly or you’ll regret it. Too it with the sausage and grab some chopsticks. $16 gets you 2-3 meals worth of food even if you’re a heavy eater. I work month on / month off in Anchorage and always hit them up before I go home. They have ruined food for me in Alabama and the only thing I want while I’m home is their deep fried pork belly. If you’re passing through Anchorage this is one of those “local experiences must stops” you’ve been looking for. Grab a plate and head over to Lake Hood Seaplane Base just down the road and enjoy your meal while watching the planes...
