My family spent the most wonderful day with Raymie and Ellla on 8/15/2024!!! I waited to write a review because I couldn't find the words to describe how amazing this day truly was! I did extensive research before booking with Raymie and Midnight Sun Excursions. I knew I wanted a tour in Skagway for my family. What I also knew was that I did not want to sit on a big coach bus with about 30-40 other people for hours. I didn't want to stop at the locations the tour picked, but rather, places that I wanted to see or places the locals recommended! Raymie's tour is the perfect way to see Skagway, British Columbia, and the Yukon!!! It was just our family, no one else! We had our own private tour guide for the day!! That's one of the things that make Raymie and Midnight Sun Excursions so very special. Raymie makes the tour time all so very personal. She asks where you want to stop and what you want to see. I had the Gold Rush Cemetery and the Yukon Suspension Bridge on my list, so she made sure that we went to both places! She even took some extra time at the end to make sure we made it to the cemetery and Reid Falls before heading back into town! Raymie knows the absolute best locations for amazing views and beautiful photos! We spent 5 wonderful hours with Raymie and Ella traveling to the Yukon. Raymie was full of information and was so knowledgeable about the area. She told us many interesting stories about the area, its history, and life in Skagway along the way. We didn't feel like we were traveling with a tour guide, it felt like spending the day with a friend!! We saw some beautiful places that we will never forget! We also saw a bear, mountain goats, and my husband spotted a porcupine in a tree!!! At the end of the tour, Raymie dropped us off right in town so we could do some shopping to support the local businesses. We got out of her van with big smiles on our faces and had them the rest of the day! It was a beautiful day that we are still talking about, and whenever I do, I tear up just thinking about how beautiful and amazing this day was for our family! We won't ever forget our adventures with Raymie...
Read moreIf you're lucky enough to be on a bucket list cruise ship to Alaska and headed for a port day in Skagway do yourself a favor and book a tour with Raymie. Easily the highlight of our recent 7 night Royal Cruise to Alaska. I booked a tour with Ella and Raymie almost 9 months in advance. Why choose Raymei? Like I said if you're lucky enough to be on this type of vacation why squeeze yourself and your family onto a coach bus with 40 other people waiting around for them to take their pictures so you can take yours? Raymei gave my family of 4 the expert personalized treatment in her comfortable private tour bus. When you book an excursion that is personal you can pivot and do things in any order you want? For example on our tour when we got to the Welcome to Alaska sign a coach bus had just started to unload their group, so we pivoted and came back on our way back to Skagway, it was empty when we arrived later in the afternoon. Raymei is a great tour guide and an even better person. She is very easy to talk with giving you the local history of the town, engaged with our 2 kids ages 8 and 10. She created a fun activity pack for them to do while on the tour that encompasses things you'll learn on the tour. My only regret was booking the 5 hour tour and not the full 7 it was so much fun! She guarantees you'll be back in port with plenty of time to shop around and she had great suggestions for local seafood too. Cannot recommend Midnight Sun...
Read moreRaymie was so personable and flexible; she planned our excursion based off of what we wanted to do. On one of our very first stops she stopped at a waterfall, got some glacier water, and filtered it for us to have something to drink along the way! She even allowed us to keep the cups we used that said "Midnight Sun Excursions" as a souvenir. She was so very knowledgeable and told interesting stories. She had a great knowledge of Skagway, and knew the names of many plants and flowers. She took amazing pictures of our family! She had the timing of things down to a science, like for example when the border gets busy, which made our excursion go smoothly. She was thorough and even made sure we had our passports with us before we left the area. She was conscious about what was best, for example coming back to a location we wanted to take a picture at later (after another tour bus had left.) Her dog Ella was so sweet and only barked when she met us for the morning. Other than that Ella quietly napped in the van while allowing our daughter to pet her. We were lucky and on the day we went we saw mountain goats and three bears (we saw the bears from the safety of inside the bus). We'd definitely recommend this tour, and would suggest that if you're debating between the 5 hour or the 7 hour tour, we'd recommend the 7 hour tour. We did that one, and we still wished we'd had about...
