This is not a cheap hotel, but it's got a great location and offers a lot better amenities than the alternative I had considered (a campground at Dyea, a ghost town several miles outside Skagway. Watch for bears!). Every business and museum in Skagway is within walking distance. The staff is friendly. The rooms are not air-conditioned, which can be a bit uncomfortable if the weather happens to be hot, but they do have fans, which help quite a bit. Even the shared bathrooms do not seem to experience a lot of competition for use. Guests of this hotel are offered a free breakfast each day in the on-site restaurant. Read moreBeautiful, comfortable hotel with exceptional service! Highly recommend. Stayed in Dottie for a girl's night get-away in Skagway. This hotel is right on the main street - great for walking anywhere in town. Our room was gorgeous, as were the other rooms we saw. The wallpaper and paint colours are stunning, the flooring is lovely (there are stars on the bathroom floor!) the furniture and decor is so charming, the beds are very comfy, and it was so quiet! Was a true historical experience! - But did not see any ghosts (LOL). The service was excellent and accommodating too - thank you so much! A hot breakfast is included and was delicious. We will be back! Yukoners be sure to ask for...

The rooms are small, but clean, historic, and charming. The owner will shuttle you if you need a lift. Staff are fun and friendly.
Pro Tip about breakfast: if you're riding the first train in the morning out of town, let the staff know well ahead so they can squeeze in breakfast and shuttle you to the train. Alternative: take a...
