This theater needs work. I'm from out of town and I went to see Nosferatu on Christmas day, since I'm a horror movie junkie. I was initially sent to the wrong theater, but thankfully I figured it out. In all the other theaters I've been to, the electronic signs would display the theater number, movie start time, and the movie it was showing. This theater only displays the theater number above each entrance. This is an easy fix and should be done to clear up any confusion. When I went into the wrong theater initially, there were two entire rows that were blocked off with standing signs for cleaning. A staff member came and removed them during the previews. Those should have been removed long before patrons started coming into the theater.
There are two entrances to the hallway where the theaters are located. One was blocked off. What doesn't make sense to me is why the one that was blocked off was right next to the concessions where people buy tickets and get snacks. I think it would be a better experience if the line was streamlined to that entrance. On another note, the place felt old and dingy, even though it was relatively clean. The staff were also nice, so props to them on that.
I think the place could use two things to make a better experience: management training and remodeling. I feel like some of the issues (wrong theater and blocked off section) earlier mentioned could have been prevented if better management practices were in place. Other theaters I've been to have large seats with extendable legs that kick out and lay back, including a small theater in my hometown. The seats here are from the 90s. The screens should also be larger. This theater has the smallest screens I've seen in a while. I think the people in Albany, GA and surrounding areas deserve better in...
Read moreMy husband & I decided to go to the movie this afternoon. It was terrible. The girl at the ticket counter was not very friendly and acted like she didn't want to be there. As it is Tuesday, tickets are advertised at $5, so when she told me the total was over $17 I asked her why, all she said was you have to be a member. I asked a member of what? She said the membership club. She didn't explain further. When I tried to pay, the credit card machine was so far inside the window I couldn't get my hand in to use the machine. Tried several times, finally just paid with cash. The concession line was terribly long, and now they don't even fix your drink or put the butter on your popcorn, really. The drink machines were out of ice and dirty. There was only one ticket taker, and I must admit very nice when I asked to speak to the manager. After waiting for 30 minutes for the manager not to show up, we went into the theater. I know that the theater had nothing to do with this but my husband is in a wheelchair. As there is only one area for wheelchairs I pulled him up & on one side all 4 seats were taken. On the other only 3 were being set in but the lady said she was saving it, so I ended up having to sit down front. Just absolutely loved going on a date and not being able to sit with my husband. The restrooms were filthy and all I could smell was wet paint. We won't...
Read moreWorst experience at a movie theater. We waited 15 minutes in line to get tickets. No one ever came into the ticket booth. Walked around and another patron told us to go to the register next to the snack counter to get tickets. We stood there while snack line patrons were being waiting on and we were ignored. I asked the one snack cashier if this was the place to buy tickets. He said yes. We stood there another 10 minutes. A girl finally appeared and seemed annoyed as she was obviously doing something on her phone. I asked to purchase tickets. She said absolutely nothing. Meanwhile my husband got in line for the snack bar. They had no small cups but at least charged for a small. Upon getting to the soda machine, the coke machine didn’t work and the other machine only had orange, root beer and water. We got the kids slushies instead, but the coke slushy was broken and their treat they wanted was a coke. No napkins to be found. Bathroom by the theater was closed so we had to go back out to the lobby. No one collected tickets. The name of the movie was not listed and lit outside the theater door so we relied on asking other patrons if we were in the correct theater. The movie never started, so a patron went out to tell them. We will NOT...
