Our quick trip started out shaky but ended well! We stayed here for 1 night, the day after Valentines Day (yes, a very busy day). Before arriving, I called to make sure our room would be ready upon arrival, I was told it would be. After arriving at check in time, 3pm, we were told it WASN'T ready, and they would call us when it would be. They DID take us back to show us where we would be staying and where we would be parking. We drove around for half an hour or so waiting for a call to tell us the room was ready, but we never received a call. We went back to the facility and were informed by a different (very nice) staff member that our room WAS ready, but because they were so busy checking in other guests, they hadn't had time to call us yet. Personally, I believe they should've asked the new arrivals to wait for a minute and a half while they made a quick call to us since we had already checked in, we just needed our keys! I understand it was a busy weekend, and they had issues getting guests to check-out in time, but don't tell me my room will be ready when you know it won't be, I think this is what upset us so much! Alas, we finally made it to our room, it was clean and well-appointed (with heated floors in the bathroom) around 3:45 to discover our private hot tub wasn't ready for us yet, it would probably be an additional hour or so (it took 2 hours). This is because they drain, clean and refill in between guests, which I certainly & obviously appreciate! However, I feel they should make this known to you when making your reservation so that you have that expectation when arriving. I will have this expectation & understanding the next time we visit. With all of that being said, once everything settled down and we were finally in our room...the rest of the short time we had there was really wonderful! We walked to an amazing restaurant for dinner (Seared) and fully enjoyed the rest of our stay. It was amazing having our own private hot tub on such a cold night! I also want to give a shout-out to the gal who was handling the 'included' cook to order breakfast, she was running her tail off and handling the front desk and kept a smile and positive attitude the entire time. She is a real gem! This is a historic property, and some upkeep is needed (waterfall/fountain needed cleaned and more water, you could hear & see the pump, there wasn't enough water to actually pump), but it is lovely and charming, and we are hoping to return for a two-night stay this summer, when it's warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the lovely, private patio.

We took 2 stars off, 1 for the room issues, and one for the aggressive house keeping The property is beautiful, even in winter. Not pictured is a beautiful outdoor hottub in addition to the one in our room. The breakfast is pleasant, the area is cute, fire going when you walk in with pretty tables between the main area and a little alcove. Walking from your room to the breakfast place is just pretty and calming. The private parking area is really convenient and it feels like you're leaving your apartment. The closet is nice sized to where the dresser might benefit from not being there for walking space reasons. The room is cute, we got the secret garden for the privacy. It's tucked by itself. It's nice to have that living room space even if we didn't watch tv. We bought a space heater and that helped a lot. The floor was freezing so slippers are needed. The hot tub was really nice to have private, the first night it broke my legs out but didn't the night after so I'm unsure on that. I'm usually fine for a hot tub at the gym. You do want to sit in it for a bit before moving around so the water level can lower a bit, it's tile underneath that area though so the spills aren't so bad. I can understand that the property is historic, but so are these extension cords and plugs. The only good plug is by the microwave. That's the best one, the others will drop your chargers out at random. I also really disliked that every morning we went to the 'private patio' maintenance leaves the door open. They have a whole hidden entrance thing just to be disrespectful to the guests about it. The housekeeping... wow. They are AGGRESSIVE. They're banging on the door Day 1, we open the door and the girl is almost trying to walk through my husband to service the room. It's not necessary, we exchanged about 3 towels and let it go. The next morning, she's fighting for her life to get in our room while we are in the shower. Banging on the door, trying the handle, yelling at us through the door that she needs to clean the room. We yell back that we're not checking out until closer to check out time. THEN she goes through the maintenance door to our other door, and starts banging through the living room door, playing with the handle, and yelling at us that we should have been gone already... check out was in an hour. When I complained to the person at the desk when we did check out he basically stared at me and awkwardly said sorry at the end. The place was cute, but the housekeeping ruined our chances of coming back. User experience may vary.

To the owners!!!!!!Clean your facility starting before you even enter with your outdoor light fixtures and then have a hazmat team throw out the couch in the Route 66 room. Get a better front office manager annnnnd Never ever list yourself as across the street from old town when you are absolutely not. You are several blocks from it on the south side of central. Please never put a couch in a room that’s worse than what you’d find by a dumpster off central. It was filthy and not a pull out. Asking us to use the pump up camping mattress shoved in that filthy supposedly pull out couch…that the original mattress long ago got up and walked out of lol in that “not shown as the sofa in your pics” …..is unexceptionable. We would have left at that moment but I’m disabled and we needed what was already paid for which is a night’s sleep in what we had been sold. We didn’t even stay for breakfast or use your shower after that. I’ve lived and stayed in Albuquerque 55 years. This was one of the most dishonestly presented and poorly managed facilities ever. What a shame your more interested in buying pump up camping mattresses than trying to simply save this historic and could be cool building. At the rate you treat it, it will soon be finished and it deserves better. The only good thing I can say is that the very tall young man that took us to the room was kind and the ground managers kept up with grass. Word of mouth along with reviews should be seen as perhaps harsh but helpful. From one business owner to another, don’t sale what you do not provide. I will definitely steer anyone personally or professionally away from Casa de suenos and if there are ghostly experiences there as you probably use as a selling point, those ghosts aren’t impressed either. Lol Now drop your star rating to a falling star and be glad the lowest rating it only a one star. Hotel Albuquerque hosted the convention and was the original choice. It actually sales what it says and is next to old town but we chose your hotel out of wanting to try a smaller place that might need money. What you really need is to quit ordering your maid to do what according to the light fixture and it’s simplicity, you could grab a rag and water and knock out the 5 years worth of spiders and cobwebs along with mold you’ll notice if you are actually running under health department codes. Now go forth and either get to fixing your serious health and construction issues or sale that poor place to a company who understands...
