To preface my review: we had a extremely negative experience in the R.C. Gorman gallery on the first floor on the left side, so this review is in no way a reflection of the second floor, which we never ended up going to. The RC Gorman gallery is not on google maps, so I’m not sure if Amapola is the name of the building or the second floor only (the website doesn’t say much).
We went in and because I had a drink in my hand, the lady at the desk came up and grabbed it from my hand. I completely understood not wanting food around artworks, but I could put my own drink down thanks I’m not a 8 year old. We went around the gallery looking at the art pieces. Maybe the lady assumed we weren’t buying anything but she came up to me while I was looking at an artwork and asked very rudely what I was looking at. She then grabbed my drink and shoved it back into my hands and said bye. It was very rude and unprofessional. I can’t believe someone like that works here, and honestly this gallery looks like it is well within its ability to hire a better person. I would not buy anything here because of the person working here, not because of the art.
Like I said before, I have no way of knowing whether Amapola has control over RC Gorman gallery. I’m writing this review to inform others of the horrendous treatments of RC Gorman Gallery. If you’re reading this and wondering about whether you should come or not, just don’t go to the RC Gorman gallery, which is on the first floor to the left. It’s very telling that the only negative reviews for Amapola are for the RC Gorman gallery. If that gallery ends up having its own google map place, please kindly inform me and I look forward to leaving my one star review there and...
Read moreJust walked into the gallery, planning to purchase drinks and look at the art. My son in law is Diabetic and needed a restroom because his blood sugar had spiked. I walked to the left side to inquire if there was a restroom. The gal sitting behind the counter replies nope with an attitude and I nicely asked if she could point us in the right direction towards one and again she says nope and turns her head away from us. I cannot think of the last time I was spoken to so rudely and with such a negative attitude. I am sure that question is asked a lot but, being rude is not the answer. Why would anyone want to do business here? I suggest a sign that says no restrooms. Even if everything is great and taste good, I will not be back. I never write reviews like this but, I...
