Unfortunately, the fraudulent business practices taint, every other aspect of the meal. This will be discussed near the end.
To start off with the food, it is very average. For the price, you would expect much higher quality food. However, when every dish cost $21 after tax, it is definitely not worth the price.
Most of the dishes are dripping with oil. For example, some of the noodle and curry dishes are literally sitting in a tub of oil.
The orange chicken uses frozen, perfectly cubed pieces of chicken. I wish they used the actual pieces of chicken, again as the price you pay does not attest to the quality.
Red curry is ok but the flavor is very mild.
Chicken satay is quite dry and needs all the sauce it can get.
Sticky rice mango is a pitiful portion for the price. They even promote fraudulent advertising by showing a giant portion of sticky rice mango with an entire mango on their menu, however, the portion you get is less than half of one mango. It is extremely fraudulent/false advertising.
Another issue overall is that the restaurant adds a 3% credit card surcharge. They have signs in the restaurant stating that the credit card companies are charging the customers this extra surcharge. This is again patently false. Credit card companies charge a surcharge to businesses who wish to accept credit cards. This is a normal cost of doing business, and this should definitely not be passed on to the customers as the prices at this restaurant are already at an all-time high. Also, as other reviewers have pointed out, apparently the restaurant charges this on debit cards as well, which is again, entirely fraudulent as debit cards do not charge any transactional fees.
Lastly and probably the biggest issue is when they miss items in your order. For example, at the restaurant, I ordered a dessert along with my meal. At the end, it was discovered that the dessert never actually arrived, however, I was charged for it. The restaurant refunded the dessert, however, they only refunded the amount prior to the 3% credit card surcharge that they charged me. This means, the restaurant did not refund the extra 3% That they charged me originally for the dessert! They got to keep an extra 3% of money for intentionally messing up an order which again is fraudulent. This is something that will have to be filed with the FTC as who knows how many others they have scammed out of 3% in the past.
Overall, I would highly suggest avoiding this restaurant due to the food quality being poor, the prices being quite high, the extra credit/debit card surcharges, and the fraudulent activity if the restaurant has to...
Read moreCame here a couple of months ago with a friend… good service and food. I was hoping to have a similar experience with my daughter this evening. We walked in at 8:20pm. and the lady greeted us and said they close at 9pm and so they could not seat us, that the kitchen “closes at about 8:20pm”, so we would have to order our food to-go…??? Okay. We ordered the Pad Thai combination meal, the orange chicken combination meal, and the mango sweet rice dessert. The lady taking our order said they were out of egg drop soup, so we changed the combination meals to just entrees. We had our to-go order in about 7 minutes. When we got home, the pad Thai was packed in the styrofoam to-go container (good portion size) so had to transfer it to a large mixing bowl—Which was fine, but if I was going somewhere where I didn’t have access to, or tbility to mix it up in a bowl, it would’ve been a problem because the ingredient B compartmentalized on top of the noodles. Tad Thai actually was quite delicious. The orange chicken however, was not good at all. Not only was there just literally 11 bite-size pieces of chicken, but it was mostly breading and appeared to be double-fried, so they were saturated with oil/grease. And the chicken inside was thin, dried out/chewy, and had tendon parts that weren’t chewable — Definitely not worth $15. And last but not least, the dessert… The picture of the mango sticky rice that is on the menu as well as on the website, shows two portions for $5.99… When I opened the container there was one single portion. I tried to call the restaurant at 9:07pm, but of course no one answered the phone. Definitely cannot, and will not, recommend this place based on my highly-disappointing $44.00...
Read moreIt was my first time eating here at this fine restaurant. When I found out that this restaurant offers the combination of Japanese and Thai cuisines, it makes me wanting to try more food. I thought to myself, "I have to check it out!" So I did :) on a side note, this is NOT a fusion restaurant; two separate menus from two different cuisines.
As I parked my car, I noticed that this used to be another Thai restaurant but I guess it's now with the new ownership. I walked in and was greeted by a server behind the counter. The place was fairly busy. I believe there were about 8-10 tables for the late lunch crowd because I was there around 1pm. I did my homework by checking out the menu from their website and indeed the restaurant offers two ethnic cuisines: Thai and Japanese. Because I wanted to get the best of both worlds; I ordered Pad Thai from the lunch special and a sushi roll from the menu.
So....the pad Thai was good but a few things were missing from the plate. I did not see the lime wedge and some fresh vegetables, which were usually accompanied the dish such as fresh bean sprouts and/or chives. The taste of the pad Thai itself was fine although I could smell some fish sauce toward to end of the meal.
The sushi looked good, I order the Slytherin roll, which was supposed to look like a snake with the eel on top. The taste of the dish was also fine but the rice was overcooked. The texture of this sushi roll became mushy in my mouth. I also felt like the rice might need to be seasoned a bit more, I didn't taste vinegar or sweetness in the rice. The wasabi was actually good -- it makes the difference!
Will I go back? Yes I plan to try some other...
