Visit Albuquerque Visitor Information Center — Attraction in Albuquerque

I met the most helpful young lady Stephanie Montoya in the visitor center today and she guided me to some of the best New Mexican food ever!! Told me all about the best places to go shopping in Santa Fe for the most authentic New Mexican jewelry and great places to wind down and enjoy the night life. We walked all through Albuquerque Old Town with her suggestions of what shops to stop in and visit. Tomorrow we will visit the International Balloon Fiesta and stop by their booth with her recommendations for great pictures. We drove from Arizona directly to this specific visitors center to get an official Route 66 stamp for my souvenir book. I researched ahead to see the visitor center was open until 5pm according to THEIR website. Google maps showed us arriving at 4:35. No problem?? Right, Oh, Yes--they were closed up tight when we actually got there at 4:24!! So thanks to this place not following their own hours, I didn't get a stamp for New Mexico. I'm beyond angry. The only bad thing about this place is that it is quite hard to find, tucked in off a very attractive square, but fortunately I saw the discreet sign and headed in.
