This is not just a place to buy games; it is a community haven, a beacon of nostalgia, camaraderie, and boundless joy for anyone who crosses its threshold.
From the moment you step inside, you are greeted not just with shelves stocked with the latest board games, trading cards, and video game titles, but with the warmth of its staff, who treat every customer as if they are an old friend. Welcoming and knowledgeable, they effortlessly guide both seasoned players and novices through the store’s meticulously organized aisles. Beyond their infectious enthusiasm, what makes Game Nerds truly exceptional is their genuine commitment to fostering community. The store regularly hosts events that draw in crowds from across the region: from epic game nights and trading card tournaments to casual drop-ins for those looking to meet fellow enthusiasts. It’s a store where connections are made, and the joy of gaming is celebrated in all its forms.
In an era where the brick-and-mortar experience is often overshadowed by the convenience of online shopping, Game Nerds stands as a reminder of the irreplaceable value of human interaction and local community. Its unassuming exterior gives way to a vibrant, welcoming world inside, where staff members remember your name, your favorite game, and the last time you stopped by. Read moreStore and location are both clean and Immaculate I love the organization the look the people inside were very friendly and accommodating and they let me do what I wanted to see and then moved off when I gave him indications that I had everything handled. However I have any long time online purchaser from your website so I typically have built up points over the years with my expenditures on Magic the Gathering and for hammer. When I arrived to the store I went to the Warhammer section found the bits and pieces I wanted even was grabbing an extra piece because Rick and mortar stores deserve my extra bit of love and when I went to check out I found I could not use my online account or gain points towards that account inside your brick and mortar store. I don't like the idea that I can only gain my reward benefits when I'm shopping online when I took being tired time to travel all the way to Allen just to check out and see what your brick and mortar store had to offer and I live in Garland. The travel is on me the time spent is on me but the fact that you're in store reward system is not set up to connect with your online reward system definitely put me off buying anything today and that is a very weird problem to have had considering everything else was stunning.
Edit, noticed later I set 3 stars when I opened my phone. Minus a weird 'nobodies fault' issue, 5 stars, the place...

Clean, bright, professional, great service, and the best prices you can get ANYWHERE. I don't know how they can afford to have such a nice retail space selling games at the same prices as their online storefront (which typically has better prices than ANYWHERE else, including Amazon).

The only thing I can knock them for is that having such a nice clean store layout means that they aren't able to have a large selection of games in store and on the shelves (as that would create clutter, ruining the aesthetic of the store). So, if you're looking for something specific they may not have it in stock. That being said an employee told me that they should be able to special order games that are available in their warehouse, which would offer a much bigger selection.
My recommendation would be to call ahead if you're looking for something specific to make sure they have it in stock. Well worth the extra effort to support a fantastic...
