Good Staff, Bad Upkeep — Wouldn’t Stay Again Length of stay: July 31 – August 15 Great location near grocery stores (HEB, Walmart, Kroger, Market Street, Target) with a new Costco that opened 8/15, plus lots of shopping, restaurants, bars, entertainment (including a movie theater), and activities for all ages in a residential neighborhood with many apartments. My 1-bedroom suite was spacious with a full kitchen, and Jose at the front desk deserves special recognition for excellent service. Unfortunately, my stay started poorly: the first suite I was given on the 5th floor was filthy — A/C vents black with dust, kitchen utensils with caked-on food, oven and microwave lights not working, and a horrible rug smell. I refused it and was moved to Suite 120, which was cleaner but still needed a deep clean I had to do myself — the mop water turned black after the first pass. Serious safety/cleanliness problems persisted: the exit door near my suite didn’t latch closed unless you slammed it, there was regular loitering outside my windows, and a couple would park daily under a shaded tree with their car doors and windows wide open during the hottest part of the day but were not staying at the hotel. There was also a strong marijuana odor that came into my suite from someone smoking outside my suite (later requiring hours of housekeeping after they checked out), smeared dog mess by reception, a filthy outdoor grill, and bathroom grout stains that couldn’t be cleaned with bleach. Maintenance was a constant issue: the kitchen faucet handle went from loose to falling off in my hand, the dishwasher tipped forward and dishwasher pods didn't dissolve, the oven/stovetop didn't maintain consistent heat and burned or undercooked food, the first-floor ice machine was out of order for over half of the days I stayed, and amenities like the fire pit didn’t work and were unsafe due to exposed wires and plugs. The pool is not saltwater as advertised on the website and has a heavy chlorine smell. Housekeeping only comes every other day, leaves by 1:30 pm, and I had to request towels/linens and make my own bed because it “wasn’t my day” to be cleaned. Breakfast was inconsistent — some days had decent variety, but on other days basics like orange juice (ran out for 2 days), or promoted items were missing ... expired yogurt was offered for days, and quality fluctuated noticeably. Charging the same or more than better-reviewed nearby hotels makes this a poor value for a long-term stay. Marriott really needs to address this hotel.

My sister booked us to this hotel because she used to stay here, this location where you can walk around during the day and night. Restaurants, coffee shops, bar and grill , stores you name it. now... FRONT DESK - The lady at the front desk she is very accommodating and helpful while we are checking in. LOBBY - I love it, there's a coffee table, computer table and lots of chair to sit down. It looks good however it's kinda hard or stiff not so comfy. I love the window sitting where you can see the restaurant Gloria's. GYM- It's clean ( no worries ) POOL- nice pool, the only thing is there's no access from the lobby. I wish they have one so guest don't have to go around the hallway. BREAKFAST - Pretty good selections, bacon, sausage, eggs, make your own pancakes and I love their cold brew coffee (as an iced coffee lover) they have hot and tea as well. Perfect! ROOM - First night, everything was okay. The next day, my dad woke up with a bit of a bedbugs (huge bit) we just ignored it. Second night, my sister woke up with a bit of bed bugs (same as my dad) so we called the front desk and told that we had an issue in my room that there's bedbugs in our bed. She moved us to the next room and then five minutes later we couldn't open the door we don't know why, so we called the lady in again and went upstairs and checked the battery and she said you see? its the battery. (Good thing that she knew how to change the battery of the door since there's no maintenance around that time) Over all it's a good experienced , it was the bedbugs and hopefully management will look into.

We found ourselves staying at the Marriott Residence Inn in Fairview, Tx for a little over two weeks last month as we waited for our home to be ready for move in. It was one of, if not the, best experiences we have ever had at a Marriott. And we've had many wonderful experiences at Marriotts! The room was spacious and had everything we needed....full size kitchen, great modern bathroom, dining area, office area/living room and large separate bedroom. We were surprised and delighted that the daily breakfasts were hot and served by the general manager, Michael Donnelly, each morning with a warm welcome. The dining seating was next to a warm fireplace and coffee was always hot, 24/7. The workout room was spacious and complete and the laundry facilities were clean, easy to use and spacious. We used all the facilities every day! Although it was snowing and icy outside, the indoor pool area was warm and inviting and a great place to hang out with a glass of wine or coffee watching the snow fall outside. The front desk staff, as well as the housekeeping staff, were always friendly, accommodating and incredibly polite. I just can't say enough about our wonderful transition time while at the Marriott Residence Inn. We truly didn't want to leave! Thanks to the General Manager, Michael Donnelly for our wonderful stay. We couldn't have been happier!

If I could give this place a negative rating, I would.

I'll just say that as a Platinum Elite member that spent over $6000 at this hotel, the treatment from upper management was beyond deplorable.

The GM is inconsistent with his policies, lied directly to my face and Corporate Marriott Reservation/Rewards department more than once, and basically has unprofessional members on his staff.

The Front Desk Supervisor has been known to curse repeatedly in front of guests, illegally handed out alcohol both to guests after Happy Hour was completed and to a guest couple that checked in Saturday night, and spent over 3 hours the first time I met him basically berating every other member of the staff and upper management team.

Also witnessed one of the housekeepers, who is related to said Front Desk Supervisor, have a sexual tryst with her boyfriend who works next door at one of the restaurants in close proximity in one of the vacant rooms in the middle of the day less than two weeks ago. This would be the same day that a housekeeper walked off of the job with no explanation only to be allowed back less than a week later to continue working. (This would explain why there are issues from a cleanliness standpoint with previous reviews listed on here as well. I'm here to help corroborate what I've seen.)

Team morale is very low at this hotel, and it reflects in the process of how situations are handled and resolved by the General Manager, who is quick to blame his support staff vs being accountable for the entire staff's actions, which creates an environment of distrust and discontent.

On several occasions I had to involve the Marriott Corporate to resolve billing issues which is what ultimately led to my departure. IF you do ANYTHING from a communication standpoint with upper management, get it in writing. On several occasions I emailed the GM, Assistant GM and Corporate Sales person for issues pertaining to billing and got no response whatsoever. I ultimately had to track down the GM and speak with him directly in order to resolve said situation. This became a pattern over the course of the 60 days I was there. (I checked in to the hotel less than ten days after it officially opened.)

Lastly, as an extended stay guest, protocol is to do a deep cleaning of each room every 7 days. My room was cleaned only 4 times in the span of 60 days I was at this hotel.

The last time it was thoroughly cleaned was right after the new year. It became obvious due to staffing issues that they lacked the capacity to clean rooms in a timely fashion or at all unless you requested for clean up so I generally kept my own room as clean as possible to keep it in operable condition.

Was asked Saturday night by the Front Desk Supervisor if I'd witnessed one of the front desk staff drinking on the job because they were conducting an investigation after earlier in the week it was relayed to them that said front desk person had been drinking on the job.

To add insult to injury, witnessed a housekeeper chug a beer on Tuesday night of last week after her and the Engineer on duty and the reported front desk member alleged to be drinking were having a loud conversation about smoking, and we're not talking cigarettes.

The ONLY reason I spent this long at the hotel is because my daughter had requested me to move closer to her while house shopping for permanent lodging in the area. She resides in the apartments next door to the hotel so location wise this was a convenient location despite the inconveniences listed in detail here.

There are however some wonderful support staff at this hotel, specifically the morning front desk girl, the breakfast crew, and the happy hour crew who serviced the guests Monday through Wednesday night.

I would HIGHLY ADVISE you to find alternative lodging if possible until the upper management issue has been resolved with my suggestion that the GM, Assistant GM, and Front Desk Supervisor be replaced in order to help this hotel...

I am going to start by first saying that this review of mine is going to be a complete first. Throughout my travels I have not had the chance to revisit one Hotel or resort that I have been too even though I say i would and might one day that has not happened untiil now. My family and I have became avid hockey fans of the nearby ECHL team close to this hotel and fate bought us back 2 weeks in a row. I choice this hotel due to its location to the game and it was super close to almost everything. There was zero noise from the inside and out and we sleep like babies both visits. The downsides really happened on this last weekends trip and that deals with mainly customer service. Both trips we noted that the rooms had not been dusted in some time with a large collection of dust seen on the top of the frigerator and above the vent from the cooking area inside the room. At breakfast both on Saturday and Sunday the woman working the breakfast area was asked if they had anymore milk or spoons and both times was very rude and did not offer to get either for my family. I also seen this same worker be very rude to an older man who just asked what time they stopped serving. Housekeeping also asked me as i was on my way up to my room an hour prior to check out if we were checking out already because they needed to get a jump on cleaning the room and my reply was i still had one hour to check out. I also noted that as i passed on the first floor and ontop my floor at the top that trash was not being picked up as it was on my first visit and towles also were not being pickup up even at one point my room being ignored until the next morning. I also asked for extra towles the last day and those were never delieved. I also noted the first tip i had to call the front desk to get more towles sent to the pool area. I can say that this is my go to hotel to watch the games in the area but that customer service needs a touch up. Also i will note that the contactless check out does not work and i still after checking in on the app i still needed to go to...
