This hotel is NOT pet friendly, at least not for Floridians. We stayed there 2 nights (was supposed to be 3) for my sisters wedding. We brought a small, well trained dog. First night our dog did bark, we were informed of the issue and delt with it even talked to the original complaintent who wasnt actually upset at all about it as the dog wasnt barking for very long.
Second night we had no issues at all. Third day, the second we leave to have breakfast elsewhere because this hotel doesnt have a very good one and within 20 minutes of us leaving we were called and informed that we were being kicked out because of our dog barking.
We turned around away from our current destination for the day to deal with it, spoke to the assistant manager Mystie Fuller who was not only rude but also clearly had an issue with us from the beginning and just wanted us out.
We were then told that the new complaint wasnt actually even our dog, it was from another room but we had to leave anway. When I asked why, she then said she recieved more than 2 compalints about our dog specifically even though she made no effort to contact us regarding these other so called complaints against our dog.
When I asked why we were not informed of these other so called complaints against our dog she claimed she could not contact us. We never recieved any call to our room at any time, no one ever came to our room at any time and even as we sat downstairs for an hour prior to leaving no one said a word to us. She had no problem contacting us for the first complaint, and the second false complaint.
So basically, we were kicked out because our dog barked for a few minutes the first night and not once after that. The only second complaint we recieved and were contacted about Mystie herself had admitted that it was another dog and not ours but that we had to leave regardless. But the other people whos dogs were barking did not?
We will be contacting corporate regarding how we were treated and clearly discriminated against for whatever reason, as we did not violate any of their policies but were kicked out on a holiday weekend anyway.
Luckily even though our main plans for the day were ruined, we were able to find another nice hotel down the road that could accomidate us and we didnt let Mystie completely ruin the rest of our...
Read moreThis place tried, but fails, on many fronts.
I was expecting a package when I first arrived, which the attendant vehemently told me wasn't there despite the fact that i received notification that it was. I had to press to have her check the mail since it was delivered by USPS and lo-and-behold, the package magically transpired.
The place also encourages you to be a nuisance. As an example, in the elevator is a poster with a guy strumming guitar while encouraging a dog to yelp along. I believe this sends the wrong message to travelers that might expect peace and quiet upon entering a hotel.
They also have a sticker inside the room offering griddles to guests. This is despite them not really caring about venting hallways (per usual for most hotels, unsurprisingly), so whatever the "burgeoning" chef down the hall or below you is making, means you'll be able to smell the burning food too. Yummy!
But, this place is also located in the worst-designed shopping "mall" I've seen. Check it out on Google Maps. Walking around in that area might leave you lost for days, and it's only a couple thousand square feet.
If you do manage to escape, you should note that Stacy Rd. is pretty much always a mess to get onto the freeway (75). The breakfast is better than other places in the same segment, but that means microwaved breakfast sandwiches and an "egg bowl" are added to the menu. All over oversold in their marketing photos.
Stairwells. Well, there's one that leads you down to the first floor. The only leads you to an exit. You're basically being forced to use an elevator, so if you like to keep fit, bring a coat!
Finally, it seems like the housekeeping is having a perpetual competition to see how noisy they can be. Not unusual for any hotel, really, but the contrast to having "whisper close" doors for the stairwells versus room doors that slam shut is comedic.
My one-star rating is also to offset the nefarious ratings that surely plague this pages...
Read moreI stayed/lived here for 1.5 weeks in August for work, and I’m so glad I chose this hotel. It was comfortable, clean, inexpensive and made a long trip in a Dallas suburb a pleasant stay.
Location: The hotel is in a fantastic spot. Restaurants, a food hall, and a coffee shop (Cream & Sugar) are right on the same block. Whole Foods and shops like Dillard’s and Old Navy are nearby, and Allen Premium Outlets are just across the highway.
Room & Comfort: Check-in was quick, my room was spotless, and everything was in good condition. I couldn’t hear any outside noise (facing the parking lot at the end of the town center). The blankets were a little thin for me, but I like my blankets heavier being from Chicago. The water pressure was good but ALMOST too strong. The bath products are good for sensitive skin. The bathrooms are a little small but with lots of storage. There are regular outlets and USB outlets everywhere including table lamps.
Amenities: Breakfast was more than adequate — not a big buffet, but enough variety with make-your-own pancakes, cereals, juices, coffee (24/7 in the lobby), and breakfast sandwich ingredients, including Impossible sausage patties, which was a nice surprise. They change up the breakfast sandwich breads from biscuits to pretzel rolls to sandwich buns. There’s a small market near the front desk stocked with snacks, drinks, ice cream, OTC medicine and more. Laundry costs $2.50 each to wash and dry, which isn't inexpensive. Free refrigerated water bottles by the elevators were MUCH appreciated, especially in the Texas heat. We also used the pool once and it was very clean.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a fuss-free, comfortable, convenient, affordable and clean place to stay in the area — whether just for a night or for a...
