What the heck! I had a $5 reward. Wanted to get just a few things for a couple of craft projects. The prices didn’t match when I got to the register so it took me multiple trips back and forth because Joe at the register wasn’t going to price check. Why not send the older lady running around to get the correct items. So then I put in my phone number for my teacher discount and then scanned my reward. “Oh, it’s not scanning”. Are you using the same email? Can you sign into your account?” WHY???? I typed in my number and I’m scanning the barcode. The store is empty and I know why. AND….the lady next to me went to self checkout. They charge a fee to pay with a card at self checkout. WHAT?!!!!! This is why stores are closing. Hobby Lobby is up the street. I have no rewards there. But I will get better customer service and I know they will price check if something isn’t right. And no charge for paying with credit card. I wasted time and I’ve used up my reserved patience for the day. Forget you Michaels....
Read morePurchased a Christmas tree online for pick-up in store. Received text that my order was confirmed and to come pick it up at this store. We arrive to pick it up. Purchase a bunch of Christmas supplies and then ask the cashier for the tree. We were informed that it didn't show as confirmed on her handheld. I proceeded to show her my text and then went back and checked the handheld. She told me that she couldn't get one for me as they didn't have one in stock, but I could purchase one of the other two remaining Christmas trees that were double the price. We decided to leave and go looking for one elsewhere. We actually found one at the Home Depot, so we'll be canceling the order at Michael's.

Read moreIf you like scrapbooking, woodcrafting, silk floral stuff, jewelry crafts, drawing, painting, baking, and needle work, like knitting and crocheting, this is a great place. Also really good for children's school projects and framing, as well. Storage selection was great at this store. And to my pleasant surprise, this location had a variety of miniatures and a larger woodcraft selection than other Michaels locations. If you are looking for sewing, quilting, or fabrics, then Michaels may not be the best choice. Also, not sure if its a new thing or just the Altamonte store... but the first several aisles had Floridian tourist knick-knacks that felt like a Christmas Tree Shop (like seasonal picnic stuffs, flamingo or pineapple bowls, plates, or other cheesy unnecessary things). Maybe those aisles can be filled with something else? Like more...
