Here for the month of June. 1st time visiting the area. Really like the campground so far and would definitelycome back here. Full hook-ups, which include ELECTRIC, are an awesome perk. Campground has pool and day it was supposed to open it didn't. We were allowed to go use the pools (they have 2) in the namesake hotel. They were very nice. Both indoors but had roofs that opened to let sun and air in. We finally did get to go to the campground pool. If I was rating campground on 1-10 rating... 10 for park itself and especially for having a pool. But the pool would get a bit lower rating. Decent size pool but could very easily become too crowded and not very enjoyable if everyone and their kid's (was told over 300 camp sites) decided to swim at once. The pool goes from 3 feet to 5 feet deep. What really is a bad point for me about this pool is the floor/side wall texture. It may very well be deliberately done this way as a way to help prevent slipping. But it is absolutely terrible feeling and rough on the bottom of your feet. Thought maybe that was just the texture they chose for the steps, again to possibly prevent slipping. Nope. It was the same on the floor and side walls of the pool. Have to be very mindful of that because very easy to hit it wrong and skin your toes, knees. That was not very pleasant at all.

Family-oriented park with estimated 50% of sites occupied by workers for local theme park snd casino. Pleasant enough, but pads are quite narrow by today’s standards. Power pedestal leans at an angle but power was solid and didn’t fluctuate. Water was brown when we ran it to clear the spigot! Trolly runs through the park regularly. Dog park was nice, children’s play area popular and pool was in great use. Sites weren’t too close but the admonishments about the grass were a bit over the top. Streets are one way and narrow. When you are arriving and turn onto Adventureland road, turn right at the 4th driveway, no street sign, just before the traffic light. There is a sign for the campground but it is parallel to the road, so of little help. When we phoned for a reservation we were told there were no sites available for our size rig. But it was very difficult to understand the agent as her accent was hard to understand. I hung up. Called back, got a different agent who booked us immediately.

Pros: *Use as a base camp with lots of things to do in DSM. *Great to let the teenagers walk (or take free trolly) back and forth to Adventureland. *Comfort station looked remodeled recently and there was always plenty of hot water in the shower. *An easy walk to the casino, fast food & Dunkin Donuts. *Beautiful view of Adventureland lit up at night. Cons: *We were there Fri-Mon and the comfort station (shower house) wasn't cleaned at all our whole stay. The same muddy footprints, poo smear in stall 1, and sticky pink gel on door were there our whole visit. *We had a spot at one of the circles and there wasn't enough space to park both our 28' camper & F150. *Dog barking all night long our first night there and be sure to watch where you walk in the grass as some don't clean up after their dogs. * Bring your own fire pit.

Not much to look at, but the campground isn't meant to be the main attraction anyway (the amusement park is). Well used but clean, surprisingly quiet for the number of people staying there. Pool was nice and clean. Unique circle design for the back-in spots works well, but the spots are a bit short. Spots are paved and mostly level. Sewer hookups are at the front of the spots, which is odd and might require a longer hose. It's only a short walk to the park, or you can ride the free trolley service that comes around every few minutes. WiFi was decent. Tip: avoid the spots nearest the edge of the campground in circle "C" (and maybe "B" and "D") if you have a pop-up or have bedroom windows facing back -- the parking lot exit for the casino next door aims headlights in that direction all night.

Depends on who is working in the campground office whether they will ask for a spot preference supposed to be a trolley to shuttle from the campground and hotel Nope and no reasonable response they had 2 last year the signs still say trolley stop so people sit and wait until they realize or someone tells them no trolley is coming not a convenient walk pretty far and not doable for anyone with a health issue No.playground new thing has been in pieces the entire season never touched they close the pool at 7pm in July pool hours are 11-7 even though there's no lifeguard it would be nice if it was 9-9 or something so families could swim before or after the park pretty dissatisfied going to cancel my others 2 3day reservation's and won't renew our season passes
