I have always loved market Street for their great selection in products but their customer service has really suffered. There are ample employees, but few who actually help and almost none who do it efficiently. I stood in line at customer service for over 20 minutes while only one window was open and seven employees were behind the counter. The woman at the one open window, “Paloma” was extremely slow and seemed new. (if you have ever seen Zootopia, it was like the sloth at the DMV). She was definitely in no hurry, and made sure to converse needlessly with every employee before, during and after assisting customers. She also would answer the phone and assist them immediately before the people standing in the line in front of her. The checkout lines were no better. every single open lane had a several person wait. I waited my turn with one item and even though the cashier had finished cashing out the person in front of me, the bagger had not finished bagging their items. So, I had to awkwardly stand there with the cashier absolutely refusing to even look at me and acknowledge me, as if to not rush her. (Could have scanned my item, paid and been half way home by the time they finished bagging). I turned around and went to the lane behind me, as that had finished first and the young man at that register literally turned around right in front of me to finish his conversation with the employee behind him! The employee he turned to speak to actually told him to assist me. I appreciate that, but I was still in shock that he thought his story was more important than checking me out, which is his job, and why he is there and getting paid. Overall, the entire experience was terrible because none of the employees want to help even when they are doing nothing else. If you walk into market Street, and need assistance you will look around and see many employees, but they are all talking to each other, laughing and avoiding any type of customer interaction. These employees did NOT want to stop their conversations with each other to help...
Read moreTo the pathetic illiterates that write and spell at a 2nd grade level to complain about this store, you are a bunch of life's losers. You are ridiculously lucky to have such a nice store in your neighborhood.
One example. To the whiny woman who complained about getting sick from the salad bar TWICE, you would have to be stupid for going back a 2nd time. Right? I use that very same salad bar several times a week and it is NEVER anything, but extremely fresh and healthful. Compared to most grocery store salad bars around the country, this is most assuredly one of the best. I know!
Too many of you whiny goofballs complain about some of the most simplistic, trivial things, that it is incomprehensible. So what if some employee ignored you. No cook refused to get your order correct two days in a row you moron. Your cake wasn't absolutely perfect, so you will never shop here again. WHINY LOSERS! You people are obviously vacuous dolts to begin with and undeserving of attention, let alone to have a quality store like this one in the area. Get a life you freaks!
The employees here are very mannerly and professional and do the best they can to keep customers happy. What if this store didn't exist? Maybe another WalMart would be good for you.
Nothing is perfect. You should be thrilled to have Market Street here close to where you live. It will give you more time to go home and study your basic spelling and grammar. You can learn important things like, there is no such word as "alot" and there is actually a difference "then" and "than." Get a clue you aspiring Jethro Bodine's. Just because the Internet allows even the most simple minded of people to write reviews does not mean you have to...
Read moreLove going to Market Street.
Service is great and Matt(Store Director) has got to be one of the best if not the best. I have seen him talk to everyone and treat them with the up most respect.
What surprised me one day was I seen Matt pushing a cart with grocery's out for some random customer( and when I mean random - just some regular everyday person) Totally blew me away. The Store Director outside in the heat pushing a cart of groceries and loading it into the customer's car. And I have seen him do this a couple of times this year. Talk about service.
Some of Matt's department managers are pretty outstanding. Sandra from the Market Street side. Tina from up front. The department manager in the dairy area. (cant remember his name)
Yes Market Street has items that cost more than Wal-Mart and yes I could save more at Wal-Mart for certain items. But I justify it but the following Market Street has more open registers/cashiers than Wal-Mart. I have seen long lines on certain days but have noticed Market Street will have all registers open. Plenty of Market Street employees will remember you. The ever helpful - "Can I Help you" Market Street while they are part of the Albertson's chain - Market Street still retains the Mom and Pop store vibe. Meat selection is better at Market Street than Wal-Mart.
In no way am I knocking Wal-Mart - but my time is as important as my money. Sure there may be other options in town by given I live between Walmart/Market Street/Cash savers - My preference is Market Street for...
