Absolutely the worst Kroger for pickup. Order placed in the morning for 7pm pickup. I received an email at 4:30pm saying my order would be ready at the selected time. Checked-in prior to leaving for store and used the Google Maps feature "for faster pick up." 20 minutes into my wait, I was told that they were "running behind and that I can wait another 10-15 minutes or cancel my order." 20 minutes later, still sitting here watching vehicles that pulled in 5 minutes ago receive their orders. I understand being short-staffed, but this problem is bigger than that. Rather than emailing and texting me to not "forget to pick up my order at 7pm," I should have been alerted that they were running behind and given the option to select a later pickup time. Frankly, Kroger should have been offering to deliver everyone's orders at this point - it was that bad.
Normally, I wouldn't have blasted this store for one bad experience, but after reading the Facebook reviews, it appears that this has been an ongoing issue at the Anderson Town Center Kroger.
In the end, it took one hour and fifteen minutes to receive my order. And although I allowed for substitutions for the deli meat (turkey and ham) in my order, they fulfilled neither order.
In hindsight, I should have taken the initial opportunity to cancel, but naively believed them when they told me - on 2 separate occasions - that my order was "ready and was on its way." There was one other car that was there when I arrived and they received their order approximately 10 minutes before I did. ALL the cars in the 8pm time slot, however, received their orders before us. Again, this is not "running behind." This was simply complete mismanagement.

Read moreI grew up in Anderson and witnessed the birth and transformation of this Towne center since it was Beechmont Mall.
It's only gotten worse with the years.
Let me start by saying I like the Kroger. It's big, it's nice, great. The only other place I really like here is the Indian restaurant Taj India. Everything else isn't really worth trying to get in and out of the parking lot on a busy day.
This place is filled with weird medians that seem to be constantly under construction, pointless roundabouts for intersections that aren't nearly busy enough to warrant a giant roundabout, and frustrated driver's cutting each other off.
Possibly my favorite part about the ATC is that there's a Starbucks in Kroger AND another one about 300 feet from Kroger. Also there's a jewelry store in Kroger AND another directly outside as well. Pointless.
Every time I visit ATC there's something else that makes me say...
Read moreThere is so much to do at Anderson Towne Center that I couldn't possibly name them all. A few of our favorites are...The Candle Lab, a great place to blend scents and make your own candles, soap, and other fabulous items. Sky Zone, a great place to wear out the kids. My daughter loves jumping and playing here and I love watching :) Pieology, I'm not a pizza lover but live in a house with them. I must say that the pizzas here are great and the toppings endless. They are reasonably priced. Give your self a couple minutes, the pizzas are made to order. Don't forget Carrabas, great Italian restaurant, fablous food, atmosphere, and good service. Ask for Deb, she is a fabulous waitress that will help make your visit special. All on all Anderson Towne Center has came a long way from the old Beechmont mall days and for those not in this area...it's worth the drive. For those in the area , I'll...
