I guess I’m old school? I see people complain about this place! I don’t have any thing bad to say about the mall itself they have very convenient amenities like the handicap parking spots are designed much better than anyplace else I have seen in SC! It’s not full of mall rats! But I think that’s the sign of the Times! (Kids today are stuck in a fake world called Facebook! And playing Xbox n PlayStation games). I went there the second time a couple days ago to pick up glasses from Lenscrafters and grabbed a slice of NY Style Pizza! It was surprisingly good! I grew up just outside NYC and know what a New York Pizza is supposed to look and taste like! I think it was the best comfort food in the food court! Nothing in a mall food court is going to be healthy! It’s comfort food people!” My only real complaint are 90% of the people driving around the mall area Anderson polo need to set up a wolf pack to remind people a drivers license is a “PRIVILEGE “ not a “RIGHT!” People live in a personal bubble today one there cell phones texting chatting on FB while getting pissed at everyone around them for being in there way! But like I said it’s a sign of the times! Anderson could make a small fortune writing tickets and impounded cars to make the area safe and enjoyable for...
Read moreIt's a small town mall with 3 anchor stores; lots of small, seemingly independent shops that are well-tailored for the local community; and several mid-sized retailers commonly found in malls.
The facility is clean and well-managed with adequate security; well-lit and ample parking; and clean restrooms with a sitting room. The food court has variety and is well-tended.
There are well-selected activities for children, too. My favorite are what look like large, motorized, stuffed animals that children can 'drive' around the mall.
The mall has recently installed floor markers and signs for the benefit of the mall-walkers; now one is able to count one's 'mileage.'
A nice touch in this mall, that I have not seen in other malls, is the allowance for local people to sell locally produced baked goods, nuts, and candy. Nor does this mall have any annoying center-aisle vendors asking, "Can I ask you a question. Ma'am?" (I had run out of clever or polite ways of saying, "No.") This mall has...
Read moreWelcome to 2024, where there are over 300 abandoned malls in the U.S. and roughly 1,100 active ones. This isn't to say that most of the active ones aren't much better off than the abandoned ones. The mall is mostly a relic from a time before the digital age. How it still has a hold remains a mystery.
You have 3 categories of malls: the dead ones, the living, and the ones on life support. It really feels like this one is one bad fiscal quarter away from disappearing. Many stores have packed up shop. The number of churches is seemingly rivaling that of stores. The food court is depressing. You can choose between Chinese or Chinese. Don't get me wrong, I love Chinese food, but these are the only 2 joints I ever see open.
Good luck! I hope things turn...
