This location is without a doubt our new favorite Waffle House location. Our server Von is a prime example of a leader in customer service.
We decided on the Apopka location after the location on Douglas Ave. in Altamonte Springs had a long wait due to half the restaurant being closed off. Likely due to staffing issues. That location used to be our regular, but now, no longer.
We were greeted immediately upon entry, all with genuine smiles. There wasn't a wait, nor a dirty table in sight. The restaurant had a slight smell of bleach. That, to me, was a plus. I felt reassured the location was actively being cleaned.
I glanced at the line whilst walking to my table. It was a pleasant sight for sure. Everything was shiny and clean. The grill didn't have much of a carbon buildup as other locations do. And everyone was following proper food safety guidelines. I knew we were in for an excellent meal at this point.
We sat at a corner booth table, fully stocked with salt, pepper, ketchup, menus, etcetera. The table was spotless, as were the bench seats. We sat for less than a whole minute before Von greeted us, with a very pleasant demeanor. She brought us our drinks, and then gave us a bit of time to review the menu. Overall, we were well taken care of during our meal. Never an empty cup.
The food itself was very good. We both ordered all star specials. The eggs were cooked to a perfect over easy. The grits were hot and fresh as well. The ham was good. Overall, a solid, hearty meal that definitely left us full most of the afternoon.
Von presented us with the check, as well as asking us if we'd like a refill in a to-go cup. Never have I been asked at WH if I'd like my drink to-go! This was excellent service across-the-board. Von, you are a fine example of everything a server should strive to be. Thank you so much, and we can't wait to see you next...
Read moreServer with blonde hair was too busy talking on her phone to update my check after I added a specialty waffle to my order. I asked her three times and she immediately sat back down after she passed my waffle to me. Anna and the cook on duty served me more than she did so I tipped them instead of her. It was very disrespectful for her to say to her coworkers "Don't you see I'm on the phone??!" while I was asking her to cash me out. She failed to serve my raisin toast first as I requested because she was too busy on her phone while the rest of my order was cooking on the grill. Her periodically yelling, "Everything good?" while sitting down throughout my dining experience was quite unbelievable. I eventually stopped answering her. The laziness she showed the entire time was outright distasteful and unacceptable to say the very least. I don't believe I'll be returning. There's a greater chance of me purchasing a waffle iron soon just so I don't find any desire to go back creeping...
Read moreAlways been good BUT, today. We were sitting on the "waiting" chairs waiting to be seated. There was an empty table but no one went to go clean it or told us, "we will be right with you." There was like maybe 3 people who could've cleaned it. One of them was putting music on the jukebox instead of cleaning the table. We left after waiting for like 15 minutes or more. And if it matters, we're Hispanic but my dad looks dark for working outside, looks a bit Indian, my mom looks chinese, and i look Hispanic. The staff was black. Were we discriminated? My parents felt that we were. They felt ignored. Just putting this out there in case you're Hispanic and come here like at 1:00 pm on Sundays. Anyway, the night crew is always cool, they're black, white and Hispanic. Good...
