Absolutely worth the visit. My second time going (last time was 2018, this time 2023). Went end of September on a Saturday & Sunday (Sunday was less crowded as the Saturday was also The Great Passion Play). Location: located at the same area as The Great Passion Play, Holy Land, Bible Museum, etc but at the end of the road. You can park & walk or drive up to the statue. There is parking near the entrance gate AND at the end of the road near the statue. Price: the statue is free to visit. Favorite times to go: early morning or sunset. Just something so peaceful about the beautiful skies at sunset. Other things nearby: Holy Land Tours (2 hours; requires paid admission); The Great Passion Play (requires admission), Buffet (requires ticket), Bible museum (free), art museum (free), history museum (free), gift shops, hiking trails. Check their website for open times as some things are only open when The Great Passion Play is occurring.

The 67-foot tall statue is well worth a stop if you are in Eureka Springs. Admission and parking are free, and it is an easy, short walk from the parking lot to the statue Amazing to see up close and personal this monument of Christ. What a blessing to be able to have this statue for others to enjoy. The literature on the building of the statue is posted near by. There is an area for praying, meditation or contemplation near by. Along with the Passion Play which is a MUST see, exceptional experience I highly recommend going here! Also available at this same site is the Holy Land Tour which takes you on a trip back in time to the days of Jesus. There are gift shops, snack stations, museums, etc, that make this a whole day or evening event.

So, here I am at the Christ of the Ozarks attraction, trying to make sense of this sculpture that's more confusing than a Rubik's Cube in a tornado. But wait, it gets weirder! I struck up a conversation with one of the workers, and he let me in on a little secret – apparently, this statue was airlifted here from Rio de Janeiro. I was sworn to secrecy, but seriously, how can you keep something like that quiet? It's like the art world's best-kept helicopter secret! Now, you'd think that tidbit would bump up the rating to almost a 2-star, right? Well, think again. As if a confused-looking, chopper-transported "Christ" wasn't enough, there were swarms of bugs having a party on his face. I mean, it's hard to find spiritual enlightenment when you're getting up close and personal with a cloud of gnats. When I mustered the courage to ask the same worker about the bug situation, he pulled me aside like we were discussing nuclear launch codes. And what's the big secret? Apparently, the bug spray was on back order. Seriously, folks, if your holy monument needs bug spray, something's not quite right. So, despite the jaw-dropping helicopter revelation, we're back to a solid 1 star. At least now I understand why "Christ" looks so grumpy – he's playing host to an insect convention! 🚁🦟🙏

I was really looking forward to my visit to the Jesus of the Ozarks attraction in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, but boy, was I disappointed! First of all, I couldn't help but notice the biblical plague of bugs swarming around Jesus' face. I mean, seriously, couldn't they have provided some bug spray for the poor guy? Is there a hidden verse in the Bible that says, "Thou shalt not apply bug spray to thy Savior"? I must have missed that one in Sunday school. So, I talked to a worker there about the bug situation, and he apologized profusely. He said that bug spray was on back order and they were doing their best to protect Jesus from the insect invasion. His apology was so heartfelt; he even said, "Please forgive us, for we know not what the bugs do." I couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation. I guess even the Son of God needs a little bug protection from time to time! 🦟🙏😂

We stopped in to visit the Christ of the Ozarks in June, 2023. It is quite the statue. I didn't expect it to be as large as it was. It kind of reminded me of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. Maybe that's what they were going for? Anyway, it's a short walk from the parking area up the hill to the Christ of the Ozarks. There are some walkways allowing you to get different angles. There are also some picnic tables and such to relax. There are restrooms in the parking area. They do not charge to enter the park. But they do ask that you consider making a donation. It was a nice place to see this work of art, and reflect on its reason for being. It was worth a visit.

Standing sixty-seven feet high, the statue overlooks the picturesque Victorian village of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It’s a minute walk from the closest parking. There is no admission/parking fee but donation is expected. There’s plenty of space and seating around to enjoy the nature and adore the Christ. There’s peace and tranquility around to help you fully immerse in the beauty of mountains. There’s plenty of other attractions on the same site such as an original slab from Berlin Wall, history museum, Israel market depiction, virtual tour of holy land, the great passion play and gift shop.
