Our experience was nothing like previous reviews. It says on their website that you can "enjoy the use of a well equipped kitchen adding a home away from home experience". We have stayed at several B and B s and always able to use kitchens to cook in. I asked the owner if I could cook in the kitchen and his tone and statement made it clear that wasn't something they were happy with. His exact words were "If you have to". Well so much for the nice steaks I brought with us. Then our room was nice except the bed was quite hard and combined with lack of proper window dressing to cut down on light in the morning means you will be up early like it or not. Well the website also says "Upon awakening we would enjoy a chef prepared breakfast" Not even close. First we went downstairs beginning around 7 am and there was no breakfast ready till after 9 am after they called in a hispanic family to come cook. No joke there were probably at least 3 kids helping cook. No chefs in that kitchen. Tired of having to go down to see if breakfast was ready, I asked for breakfast to be brought up as it says we could in the website. I could tell this was not expected but was done. We went out for breakfast on Sunday instead of waiting for hired help to show up and cook. Breakfast out was way better anyhow and the coffee out was way better anyhow as the machines that were used to make coffee were not working quite right all weekend. Our room had a large garden tub that was nice and there were two steps down to the bed area. Thats fine in daylight but at night it was impossible to see the steps as they were black tile. quite dangerous. Also there were zero bath mats by hot tub or even shower and we were given 1 towel each for entire weekend. Had to use the hand towels for the floor to keep from slipping getting out of hot tub. When trying to leave for breakfast on Sunday, one of the "hired help" had parked directly in front of us so close there was hardly room to pull out and when we got back there was a truck taking two spots on other side of drive. There were only 6 spots to park on either side of the driveway and employees had 3 spots tied up. We payed over 600 bucks for the weekend and they took they best spots available. This is just not right. Its as if the owners enjoy they idea of running a b and b but dont really want to do it right. I dont think we would ever stay there again. It has the potential to be nice but not sure the owners care enough to make it like it should be. I mean I actually had to ask the owner to move his legs so I could carry my luggage by him to my car. Last straw right there. They really need to re write the web site and tell the truth. Maybe right now they shouldnt charge as much till they get things right. They are charging an amount that would demand things be perfect and they are no way perfect in the least.
Sorry but I watched the kids cook in microwave.
You are quite defensive to take constructive crititism. Ive stayed at many b and bs and you just dont have it together yet.
You are now actively arguing with a guest that paid a lot of money that was disapointed. Doesnt bode well for you. I could bring up the fact that on arival you made my Gf feel very self concious. I agree it was strange.
We could barely get our car out after your worker parked dead in front blocking us in. No one asked the other guest to take up one spot.
I've cooked lots of wonderful dinners at other b and bs. You made me feel unwelcome from the start. You asked if I knew how to cook. Seriously?? Lack of professionalism. You absolutely said "if you need to" when I asked about cooking. I can have my GF post what she heard if need be. And if you are referring to the sausage out of a box as chef prepared food you clearly don't know what you are doing.
After your response i garrantee we will never darken your door again.
Shouldnt the mats have already been in the room? We were not the first guests.
Was 2 stars till you argued with my experience with your establishment. That's terrible. ...

Read moreIn celebration of our 30th Anniversary we arrived on Friday the 15th and checked out on Monday the 18th. Our stay began with our gracious hostess/proprietor Zoie welcoming us to the house with a tour of guest amenities, concierge details for sights, activities and dining. The tour concluded in our Rose room, bathed in splendid stained glass filtered light and antique beauty! All Zoie’s recommendations were perfect scores and each customized to our tastes and preferences. Each morning began with a delicious breakfast and a charming greeting by our server, Morning Glory. Like family, each guest shared the previous days experiences and plans for the day ahead, under our Hostess’ encouragement and affirmation. The happy “home” environment was comforting, like a hug from a favored relative. Zoie, like a mother/grandmother attends to your needs lovingly without intruding, even showing you out when you should move on with your day...chatty guests needs this gentle guidance from time to time. Lol Throughout our adventure we felt warmth and love of home and hearth and especially happy taste buds for all Zoie’s caring! Though we never saw our Rose fairy, she left her pixie dust behind for our discovery after breakfast daily, thank you Anna! Our time was blessed because of each of you, we hope you are each blessed equally at Christmas and throughout the new year to come! We will see you again and recommend you to others at every...
