Robbins Library — Attraction in Arlington

This library seems to have inordinate difficulty checking in books and especially magazines. I returned a pile of magazines 4 days before their due date - placed ON THE SERVICE DESK in the box marked for magazines, because I had previously returned magazines in the outdoor return box and learned from a librarian that they don't even empty it or record those returns for days. Four days later, I received an email notice that my magazines were due despite the fact that they had been returned early. In addition, the parking is awful and inadequate, and the book selection is okay but not great. I have lived in many places and used many libraries, and this one is mediocre at best, so I don't understand the glowing reviews. On the other hand, the reference librarian that I once dealt with was enormously helpful, so that gets the library two stars, although she herself...

Robbins Library is our favorite place in Arlington! All the staff there is very friendly and helpful. We moved to Arlington 11 years ago. Since than we have spend hundreds of hours in the library. I love cooking and my wife loves physics and medicine. Through all this years Robbins library help up us evolve and become better in our careers and even become better humans. Unfortunately my wife Margarita has been suffering from a kidney failure for a very long time. The director of the library Andrea Nicolay is very kind, compassionate and professional person! Fantastic library with a wonderful selection of everything--books and movies (including a good number of foreign films and books), library of things, puzzles, even art to hang on your wall. The reading rooms are nice, and the children's room (which is a whole floor) is awesome. The staff is what really makes this library shine though. They provide reading recommendations, have put together a large number of themed "book bags" to check out if you wanted to learn a new hobby for example or wanted to check out new releases in graphic novel biographies.
