This charming café welcomes its visitors with the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee even before they step inside. The café's delightful setting, with its open and airy design, instantly sets a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Inside, the space buzzes with the vibrant energy of people engaging in various activities - some engrossed in conversation, others focused on their work, and many simply enjoying a well-deserved break from their outdoor adventures. We decided to indulge in a salmon sandwich and an egg sandwich, accompanied by cappuccinos. The food was delicious, with each bite of the sandwiches offering a blend of fresh flavors that complemented the outdoor setting perfectly. The coffee, while satisfactory, didn't quite reach the same heights as the food, but it was still a pleasant addition to our meal. A particularly heartwarming aspect of our visit was the service provided by a charming elderly gentleman who brought our food to the table. His courteous and endearing demeanor added a special touch to our experience, making us feel genuinely cared for. Overall, the café offers a delightful escape, perfect for those looking to unwind in a scenic setting. The combination of tasty food, a welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service makes this spot a gem worth returning to. I'm already looking forward to coming back in the summer, envisioning a serene outdoor dining experience by the pond, further enhancing the already enchanting ambiance.

The Kickstand is host to a mixture of diners - students hard at work, friends catching up, local residents, moms with little ones, and the occasional cyclist. I suspect the name comes from the fact that it is close by the bike path that runs through Somerville. Indoor and outdoor seating — as well, one-seat counter-style seating along the windows allows solo freelancers to stay awhile on their computers without taking up tables. The food is quite good - not memorable but tasty - and the drinks are very good. The usual lunch fare with a lot of options. The baristas are on the ball. The atmosphere is very noisy - there is no acoustic treatment and the dining space is not that large, so the place is ringing with sound - clatters from the bus tub, kitchen noises, children squealing, and lots of conversation - so it’s not (for me) a great place to go if I want to unwind, but if I am up for something more high-energy it’s okay. Decor is colorful and fun. Parking is on-street and can be tricky. They share a small lot with another business and it is usually full. Kickstand is obviously a thriving community stop and a good cafe. It’s easy to feel like you belong and that you are welcome to stay and enjoy your meal.

I've been here a few times in the past and thought it was tasty which is why I'm skewing towards 4stars . Can't remember what I got previously but this time I got Beet and walnut salad with chicken - simple, fresh and tasty. Didn't love the chicken, it was a little rubbery and was under seasoned. But there's a good amount of it and it's not unpalatable, just not super good. Thai chicken soup - tasty basic soup, nothing super interesting but again fresh and tasty. Raspberry bar - rather underwhelming didn't have a strong raspberry taste nor did the bar part have any good texture or flavor. Generally very mid experience this time but I know I've enjoyed their sandwiches in the past.

It's a cute little shop! I was here for a storytelling event with a friend and we had a really good time! At first, I got a mint limeade but it tasted kinda gross so I got a lemonade and that was good. I didn't get any good but from looking at the menu board, there were a lot of options! The bathroom was a lot different than I thought it was, there's a door (which I thought was just the bathroom) but it is the entrance to a women'ss room and a men's room, I'm stupid. Good place over all, but I did see a mouse and it kinda freaked me out. But I suggest going here with a couple of friends for one of these storytelling events!

[+] LOCATION is very good, on Mass Ave in Arlington, ample parking and right on the Minuteman Bikepath. There is a good mix of indoor table, counter, and patio seating. Interior is a charming mix of handwritten signage and bikepath-themed haiku. [+ –] FLAVOR. Brewed coffee (photo shows dark roast) was pretty good. The sweets (photo shows seven layer bar and ginger molasses cookie) were okay not great; I was expecting more ginger flavor out of the cookie, and the bar was a little too close to a candy bar flavor for my palate. All the pastries looked very good, though.
