3rd time in a row someone sitting in my assigned seat in the disabled section. I used to adore Harkins movie theatre in Arvada and its not the theater that's the problem but entitled movie patrons who have ruined my movie experience 3 times in a row by sitting in my reserved seats. I am disabled, not in a wheel chair but have some mobility issues, so these seats are very important to me since they keep me from having to go up or down stairs. The first time it happened the woman was pretty nice about it and moved from my assigned seat. The second time the woman was a bit harder to persuade to leave my seat but she eventually did. But earlier tonight the twenty something that was in our assigned seats (was there with my mom) was combative immediately even starting to make commentary before I even opened my mouth about her being in our seats. She started hollering there were plenty of other seats we could sit in and she wasnt leaving and blah, blah, blah for a good 10 minutes. I do not come to the movies spending $50.00 on my tickets and concessions only to arrive and have some hateful young woman start a big fight with us when we were clearly in the right. It doesn't matter how many seats are available, those are the seats I paid good money for, I am disabled, I really need my seats and for some entitled Gen z to take that from me was just wrong. I did not want to fight with her any longer so we just moved to different seats but she is not in charge of the seating and no right to tell us to go elsewhere. At the end of the movie I had it and talked to someone in guest services who was nice and advised next time we come and get someone from there to kick the person from our seats. In there yes that would be the thing to do but this girl was scary, combative, argumentative and I'd be scared if I reported someone like her she'd be waiting for me in the parking lot afterward to fight me. I can't enjoy the movies at Harkins anymore. Third time in a row someone was sitting in our seats and when this girl yelled she wasn't leaving my thought was I do not want to get beaten or harmed so I will just move. But as a disabled patron with my elderly mother I shouldn't have to do that. I am sick and tired of everytime I come to the movies that it starts with a confrontation to get into my reserved seats that I paid for and chose carefully. Reporting people like this is generally a scary thing in today's world we are living in. I've read media stories in which people have been harmed for reporting someone for sitting in their reserved seats. I think the better answer would be for the usher to come to thevdisabled section of the theater and ask to see our tickets and then if someone is intentionally sitting in the wrong seats they will be asked to please move to their own seat. I come to this theater 3 or 4 times a month and it is pricey. For the money I am spending I expect to have a good, hassle free movie experience without harassment, fighting and awful behavior from people who should not be in our seats to begin with. Plus this nasty girl had her shoes off the whole time and was just being a nuisance on top of everything else. Please Harkins do something to ensure that disabled patrons can enjoy...
Read moreI’ve spent a lot of time at Harkins, and one thing I can easily say is that their concession items can be very cheap if you take advantage of their loyalty program.
I’m a pretty cheap person, and I don’t have a lot of money. You can easily go to the movies even so. Firstly, at Box Office they offer student, senior and military discounts for what I believe to be $10 before 6pm. Their loyalty program is completely free and gives you $5 awards on your birthday and as you accumulate points with your purchases. They have what’s called a popcorn perk where you get 36 popcorns or a year's worth depending on what you use up first for ONLY $30. That’s 80 cents a popcorn! Every time you go in you get a free medium popcorn and an option to upgrade for a few more dollars to the large or extra large. That’s a HUGE money save. The loyalty cups are up to $3 but it’s still cheaper than buying a $9 soda every time you go in. Like I said, cheap options.
I love the environment of Harkins. They have lots of appearing standees and posters and the trailers played in the lobby. The building is very clean, including the restrooms, and the leather seats are wonderful. They have a bar in the lobby where you can take your drinks into the movies. Sometimes when I’m running late the concession crew will offer to bring my hot foods to me in the theater.
They have a ton of accessible food and more candy than I’ve seen a theater offer. I’ve noticed that their candy options change every once in a while but the most popular ones are always around. I hope one day they bring back Twix. But one thing I think is super important on the menu that they lack is a cleaner food option. All of their food is greasy, and they used to have plates with meat, cheese, fruit and veggies that they got rid of. I used to buy those all the time. It would be really good if they brought something back that wasn’t so greasy or fattening that was similar to that food option. That being said, their popcorn beats Regal and AMC easily. It’s always fresh. Their chicken sandwiches are delicious as well.
Their staff is very kind and helpful, though sometimes it seems that they need more people running the stand, and they don’t exit-greet like they used to because there seems to be a lack of people able to clean the theaters.
The Arvada location of Harkins seems to be less crowded and more considerate. There’s a Texas Roadhouse across the way, which is great because you can get some food and go to the theater right after. Fun date night!
As a last thought, they should bring back refills on large drinks when you’ve spent $7.75. I think these few recommendations I’ve made would make the overall appeal to Harkins that much more considerate. It’s a great place overall to see a movie and meet a...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about Harkins Theatres Arvada 14. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a top-notch experience. The theater is clean, spacious, and modern, with all the latest amenities to make your movie night feel extra special.
First off, the seating. Oh my goodness, the recliners are a game changer! Super comfortable, with plenty of space to stretch out, and the best part? You can actually reserve your seats ahead of time, so you never have to worry about rushing to get the perfect spot. The seats recline with just the right amount of tilt, and some even come with cup holders that are perfect for holding your oversized soda (you know the one—because you’re at the movies and you deserve it!).
The concessions? Absolutely fantastic. I’m not just talking about the standard popcorn and candy, either. Harkins has a variety of snacks, including their famous "Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Bites" that are to die for. Pair that with a cold drink, and you’re set for the perfect movie snack combo. Plus, the staff is so friendly and welcoming, they always make sure your order is exactly what you want.
The theater itself is always immaculate—everything from the restrooms to the hallways is clean and well-maintained. It’s clear that they really take pride in making the experience as enjoyable as possible.
And let’s not forget about the sound and visuals. The projection quality is crystal clear, and the sound system is immersive without being overwhelming. Whether you're watching an action-packed blockbuster or an emotional drama, the quality of the experience makes a huge difference, and Harkins delivers every time.
Finally, the staff is always friendly, professional, and efficient. They go out of their way to make sure everything goes smoothly, from checking tickets to guiding you to your seat.
If you're looking for an amazing movie-going experience in the Arvada area, Harkins Theatres is definitely the place to go. Comfortable seats, great food, top-notch service, and unbeatable quality—what more...
