First off, the thrift store has better products than most of the Arc stores in town. I am impressed to see quality items, like PS4 controllers and top clothing brands, being offered to customers. It is also clean and the workers are friendly.
As much as I want to say this place is better than Goodwill and the Arc, they are some of the business practices that doesn't make sense to me. Like if an item doesn't have a price tag, they can't sell it to their customer until tomorrow when the store prices it. So, if someone is interested in buying a product from the place and it doesn't have a sales tag, you have to come back another day to buy it? Why not price it now and create a sale on the same day?
Next and famous complaint with customers is the cash only transaction. We are in the present times where people purchase goods through cards and carrying bill is becoming rare, but the store is only accepting cash? Why? What year does the company think we're in? 1955? They have two ATM inside the building, but you have to pay a $3.50 transaction fee when withdrawing money to pay for your items. Unfortunately, this is just inconvenient for the customers. It can add up to the total if you're not prepared. What happens if there's a long line at the cash registers and a customer found out in the last minute they don't take card? Do they have to go back to the end of the line after using the ATM? You might as well bring back the check system or barting.
I see this store having full potential to be a great place to find cool stuff, and I believe they're loosing future sales with their current system. If they at least accept card transactions at checkout it would be beneficial to both the store and...
Read moreI wanted to love it but I just can't! Upon entering I was pretty excited to see, what seemed to be, a well organized store with lots of selection. My excitement soon changed. The clothes are sorted by color and not size- For some items this may be okay but sorting through several long and full racks of blue jeans to try and find a particular size is brutal. I gave up after several minutes. After really digging through the clothing racks I finally found a couple of items I thought I would like to purchase- but...no dressing room! (And I now understand a no-return policy. Really? You need one or the other!) As I was looking for the dressing room I saw that there were a couple of ATM's along the wall- I quickly realized that they only accept cash payments. I am assuming that there is a kick back on the transactions for the ATM and by only accepting cash they are forcing a lot of transactions. If a business can't afford or doesn't want to pay the merchant fees associated with accepting credit/debit cards- all reputable merchant service companies now offer the ability to pass along that cost to the customer. In my opinion allowing for credit/debit card payments is basic customer service. At this point I realized that this was not the thrift store for me. I set down my items and promptly left. I do not plan to return. I am greatly disappointed as I love to thrift and was so excited to see a new...
Read moreDo not shop here! First, they are cash only, which was a surprise when you go to check out. You would think with it being a grand opening weekend they would let you know from the get go. Also, their company policy is no exchanges or returns, but this is not communicated to customers as they are at the register preparing to pay. I called to ask the store if I could exchange same day, but they declined. The person answering the phone was very rude, and said “they have signs”…but I also heard other customers complaining in store while I was on hold. Those upset customers said they never saw signs either and felt the store robbed them of their money. Quite frankly, I don’t blame them, I’m out of $30 as well, as the clothes I picked didn’t fit right. Their exchange and cash policies are not listed on their website, which seems like a red flag, why wouldn’t they want to make that clear for customers? They also don’t have a corporate number, so you’re unable to escalate any issues. Seems like a big scam to me. Especially because they don’t offer dressing rooms so it definitely seems like they set up their business model to be unfair and...
