The experience choosing frames was overall a good one. They helped, were very polite, gave some space and were easy to work with, but that's where the fun ends. Since then I've been a bit disappointed. My boyfriend and I went in together on the July 10 or 11, don't remember which exactly. We were told they would call when ready. So here it is the 26 and we have heard nothing. I called today. Apparently his are ready. He never did get a call. Mine are not. Now, I did have to email in my prescription, but I did so on July 16, after calling and getting the email and telling them I was sending it. Turns out they only for put in the order on July 24. When I expressed my disappointment I was told maybe it got cancelled and they had to reorder. Not sure how that was an excuse but I was less than pleased with the response and lack of empathy, bordering on rude. I know I was frustrated but it just wasn't what I expected. I have been really excited to get them, spent a good bit of money and I feel like a week after receiving the info to get them ordered is a bit long as it will still take 7-10 days from then. And I don't like having to call and track things down. Hopefully they are just working out the kinks.
Update: It's been the 7-10 days they told me it would take. It's August 4 and there is only one pair completed. I don't want to have to go twice for fittings and such so I'm waiting. I at least got a sorry this time when I called. However both times I have called I have been accidentally hung up on rather than put on hold. đ
Well I called again and the 7-10 was business days. Still, 10 business days is up now. They said it's because the sunglasses were plastic lenses and had special coating, there there were a lot of specific instructions on it. I didn't give any, I was asked if I wanted coating, I said yeah. They might get sent today to the store. I was told she could send an email so I'll see if anything comes of that. Just not pleased with the now about to be month long process, which in their defense 5 of those days were my fault, but still 3 weeks from when they had my prescription and should have started. Changing my review to 1 star. I have strong lenses so the cost is a bit higher but I am in 300 bucks as the 69 frames are meh, so probably you won't be getting quite the deal you think...Plus when you call to follow up and get frustrated at this whole process, they are mostly rude or blaming. I mean I have a right to be annoyed, it's your job to try to help me, or so I thought.
Another Update: I upped my stars back after today's visit. I finally got my glasses and was not in love. Dude to my super strong prescription, I knew they'd be thick. However, it was crazy weird looking. The eye doc who fitted me said, oh yeah you definitely should have a smaller frame with those lenses to help with the distortion. Now you tell me? I went home and simply couldn't wear them so I went back and again got the same girl who helped me at first. Still super nice and said they change them out of you aren't happy so let's find some new ones! Yay! Apparently the rude people are at a call center, go figure. We found smaller frames and also did an eye exam as the prescription I provided my from eye doc seemed very off. Got a better prescription, new order with a rush and we are going to round off and polish the edges to help with my coke bottle lenses. All taken care of even tho the bad script was my fault. So it's taking a long time but they are definitely working with me on this and she said it was something they should have known and done from the start when I told her my strength of lense. I hipe this turns out ok in the end! It is looking up! You still will probably wait a while but they seem to be taking care of...
Read moreI had ordered my second ( 6 months supply of contacts ) for the year in March of 2023. I sent my brother to pick them up for me as He was going to be in the Asheville area. I now Live in Marshall, NC , North of Asheville in Madison County. I payed no attention to the contacts, until April when it was time to change them then I noticed that I Had Not been given a left and a right eye set? I put a pair on and I couldnt see out of them, so I switched them around still couldn't see out of them ? ALTHOUGH when getting my eye exam and glasses, and Contacts the Dr had said I had a new Astigmatism in the left eye, thus why I received a left and right eye to begin with right? So I call Stanton to report this, I was made an exam appointment at 12:30 the same day, I was impressed. Until I walked to where I supposed I was to " check in" gave my name, and of course pulled my contacts from my purse , when the " Girl " behind the desk started mumbling I asked her what? She said she was just reading notes I tried to Explain that I had Not been given a Left and Right eye and that I couldnt see out of the contacts. She then Exclaimed that My Prescription was the same for both eye's? when I asked why I was given a left and right eye to begin with and I had those with me of course to show that. She said she couldnt answer that, but that my prescription was written the same for both eyes.I am confused of course so I tried to point out that Indeed I had been given a left and right eye and pointed that out on the boxes. Why? I asked. She became Biligerant telling me she didnt know! As a Courtesy....???? When I asked her why I couldnt see out of them? She again Exclaimed that she couldnt explain that either and that maybe I needed to get my eyes re-examined???? she also asked that I get the bag that my contacts were in " out of her face" at this point I was Pi$$ed! I told her that she was abrupt , rude and had absolutely No people skills. I was asked to leave and I said I wasnt leaving until somone with some common sense could answer my questions and that I also needed adjustments on my glasses to wear them as I couldnt see out of my contacts! I made the decision to leave because had I stayed after herself and her Co- worker were laughing as though I couldn't hear or see them.... This Would have been the very first time in my 58 years ( that I would have gone to jail )
Keep in mind that I was Never Loud or If I was I certainly didnt mean to be. If? I were holding that bag in her face, it was simply because she was sitting rather low and the counter was above me! She is why Asheville has became "Trashville" and I was born and raised here! These are the folks we want to trust with our eye health? NO THANKS!
If Minus five stars could be given here? It would definitely be too much! Outstanding Customer Service they have ! I will Never even drive by this loication again, much less ever be inside Any of...
Read moreI have been coming to Stanton optical for about four years I believe, as well as one daughter and one grandson. They have always been very welcoming and I wanted to give a shout out to two particular employees, and maybe advice for one more. I own two pairs of eyeglasses from Stanton, but I was down to one pair as the lens popped out of my full wire frame set and I was unable to reattach it myself. No worries, as I had a spare styled with the fishing line curled underneath the lens. I also had a set of frames with no lenses nearly perfectly identical to the de-lenses full wire frame set. This brings me to August 25, approximately 6:00 PM, One hour before close. I brought both wire frame sets to drop off with hope that the original pair could either be fixed, or the lenses transferred to my lensless spare that I had used for partsâŚ., a screw here and a noseguard there. A young lady greeted me and I explained my situation and that I was hoping to drop them off and return today, Aug 26. Forgive me, but the young lady ( as will be revealed in a few more sentences) could really learn three of the most intelligent words in the English language and that isâŚ.âIâ âDonâtâ âKnowâ followed with âbut letâs find outâ. I say this because what I first heard was, âWe donât do that hereâ Surely a misunderstanding as Iâve had it done a few times before, so while my goal was to repair the original wire frame w/broken screw, I still offered to leave what I saw as identical frames to use if the first attempt failed. Rebuffed. Fine, no big deal and I say this with sincerity because I had an extra pair. So I dropped off original pair and left with my identical pair, My Intent was to pick the repaired glasses up in the morning. Then, this morning, disaster, fishing line lens holder broke, no fix, no spare no vision! I drove back to Stanton optical, carried my fishing line frames like bringing a hurt puppy to the vet, and was encouragingly informed they could handle these fishline glasses...no problem , but my wire rimmed, dropped off the night before? No bueno. I had the terminal prognosis they were no longer repairable and the screw hole had been completely routed. I then asked Damian (STELLAR EMPLOYEE #1) to âhold onâ, I went to my truck, brought in the nearly identical frames and asked Damien and Nestor (STELLAR EMPLOYEE #2) if they could âMcIverâ this set. Nestor liked that. Needless to say, while I sat patiently waiting scratching a $3.00 lottery ticket that I won $5.00 on, Damien went to work and within 10-15 Minutes I had two like new sets of glasses and a big smile on my face and was skippiding out the door, French owned optical chains be d_mned.
My apologies for the Lengthy narrative, but I feel those two gentlemen or what Stanton wants...
