Stopped in to buy a new RC 4WD truck Spur of the moment impulse purchase, the employee I asked questions to was knowledgeable and helpful. My two friends also purchased RC cars-trucks One bought the same vehicle as me, the other bought a faster model. Our two identical trucks came with one battery and a stock charger. I ordered an additional battery and quick charger. My friend bought a spare battery also. We began charging on our way to camp in MI and got there to test out the new toys. Lo and behold 1 of my batteries didn’t fit. My friends faster vehicle was a demo and he purchased a battery also-it had the wrong connector so he didn’t want to splice wires and couldn’t use it. This was Friday before New Years weekend. My friend with the identical truck was completely happy and had no issues. I fried my motor 5 minutes into using my truck so now the three of us were trying out one vehicle. We returned to get a correct battery for my friends faster vehicle and the charger he had purchased wouldn’t work for that new battery so he needed to upgrade. The employees at the store on Sunday were very helpful and got his situation straightened out. He is happy. My 2nd battery was never tested in my vehicle because I fried my motor. I got a new motor and installed it easily-I like it! I need to return my 2nd spare unused battery so hopefully all will go well with that. We bought two Arrma Granite 4x4 trucks 35mph and one model faster than that (55mph?) Read moreAfter calling the Green Bay, Wisconsin Hobby Town and verifying they did service work on RC trucks, I Dropped off my Grandsons Stampede RC truck for repair. I explained to the service representative I spoke with that I upgraded several parts already but wanted them to "Go Through" the entire truck and give it a "Mechanical Tune up". This was a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving 2024. I phoned them to check on the status approximately 3 weeks later. The young man on the phone checked the status and said they were "waiting on parts". I asked what parts and he said he was unsure. He was extremely rude and short with me on the phone saying that he hasnt been involved in that project. I said i understand and asked him if he could please have the technician who is working on it call me with a update, he said yes and hung up. I never heard from anyone after that. I went in today 12/19/2024 to check on the progress. The guy went and got the truck and 1 wheel was off. He explained that they were waiting on a "wheel Hub" to be delivered. I asked him how long that would take and what other progress they made on the vehicle "tune up". He rudely said "That's it". They ordered one part..? Needless to say this guy was rude and ignorant the entire time I spoke with him. They had 4 other store employees there and no other customers while explaining to me how "Busy they are and have been". I took the truck and left the store. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS PLACE OR ANY OTHER HOBBY TOWN AGAIN. Customer service is non existent and ignorant. I am SHOCKED this place is still in business. Read moreUpdate 3/17/2018: New owners took over as of 3/1/2018. Very friendly couple and staff. BATHROOM NOW WORKS :) They saved a part for 3 days for me until we made the trip to GB. Adjusted rating to 5 stars. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
Previous review: We live quite a long way from here so we always call before we make the trip. Half the time I call, I get a very nice, helpful, older sounding man. The other half of the time I call I get a younger sounding man who seems very rude and short with me. Or possibly just writes me off as I don't know anything about RC's because I'm a woman. I called today asking about a specific RC part. The younger sounding man said, "Yea we have a lot of those." And was going to hang up on me. I then proceeded to ask about brands they carry and if they have a specific one. The young man sounded very annoyed. I simply explained we would be driving a long ways and I wanted to make sure they have what we need.
Oh and PS..... Their restroom has been broke for over a year and a half and you have to walk to a different store to pee.... Kind of ridiculous if you ask me....
Only getting rated a 3 because of the (most of the time) helpful and knowledgeable staff. They almost always have...
