I love the new location. It's very spacious. However, I feel that a coffee shop should feel "homely." This new location, in my opinion, has WAY TOO many small tables. When it is empty, it feels crammed. I can only imagine if every table is used at the same time, it would be hard walking around freely. Also, the large table in the middle is awesome! But it has no electric sockets for people to plug their laptops, etc. . . Perhaps removing g sone of the small tables amd introducing a couch or two, perhaps a coffee table in front t of the couches, a bookshelf with reading material next to the couches. Some area rugs. . . I can see some people who want to go to a coffee shop to do some work, study, gaming, etc... I can see them skipping on Java for the simple reason of no electrical sockets on the large table and the small tables are only big enough for a laptop, leaving no room for a cup of coffee and/or much less the good food provided. This place has a lot of potential. I hope some changes to the layout are done to make the experience less generic and more like our lovely neighborhood coffee shop. The coffee is great. The staff is awesome, the food is very good too. It's just the layout that has no...
Read moreI visit this place on a weekly basis, sometimes more. The best part: the product. Everything on the menu is a treat. I've never really been a coffee person, but the flavored lattes, flavored toddys, Javaman ice cream toddys, chai lattes, hot chocolate, and even the regular daily brew are great! I stopped going to Starbucks after my first visit here in 2009 when my fiance and I decided to check it out. It's worth going out of the way for. Melanie makes the pastries, and they include her amazing signature hootenanny muffins and various other muffins, cupcakes, and cookies. They also sell New Orleans style beignets on Saturdays and Sundays that are phenomenal!Mark and Melanie, the owners, always make it a point to provide the best costumer service. Everyone that works there is always friendly and humorous. The atmosphere is very cozy and makes you feel at home, and because of the free WiFi, I love stopping by to work on homework for a few hours.Because it's specialty coffee, it's pricier than your gas station joe, but it's worth every penny (it's also cheaper than Starbucks!)! They now also roast their...
Read moreNegative five stars. What kind of "café" doesn't have wifi? This place is a halfway meet with friends so I have to go often. I've ordered several things on their menu and it's honestly all been awful. The non-coffee drinks are watered down, with absolutely no depth in their flavors. The food is super mid for the prices. My grilled cheese with egg was just store bought sandwich bread with pre-packaged sliced cheese and an egg—for seven bucks? With a Feng Cha and a Dennys next door, they should at least pretend like they care about their quality and put in some more effort on their menu. The owner's also not afraid to kick out (black and brown) paying customers if the group is larger than three people. Apparently they take up too much space. I suggest perhaps incorporating bigger tables throughout the space instead of cramming 20 two-tops. Don't waste your money here. It's...
