Bought a Wii-mote, which, granted, quality control is done in a warehouse, but I’m now on my second return due to it not functioning properly. This, not being this store’s fault, not a problem. However the brunette gentleman with the ponytail, Conner, showing no remorse or empathy for the now third trip to this GameStop I’ve had to make, no I’m so sorry this has happened, or hey I hope this time we have you taken care of, nothing. Zero sympathy, empathy, nothing. At this point, I’m annoyed, but THEN to add insult to injury, the phone rings, and while he’s assisting me, to add on to how much he could care less of my situation, he answers the phone, doesn’t bother putting them on hold, and then proceeds to look up their question, and get them an answer in the middle of our interaction. I’ve worked for GameStop, I’ve met regional managers of GameStop, I’ve partnered with GameStop, and this is the worst example of a GameStop I’ve seen, and I’ve seen some cruddy ones. I do hope this one works, as I do not want to return to my local GameStop, but If I have to I will for my refund, and then take my business anywhere else.
Update : FOURTH trip, 3rd controller, corroded contacts. Useless. No remorse, no sorry that happened, general and utter lack of care whatsoever. Refunded and never returning. Will be contacting corporate as well, because this GameStop either needs a new key holder/ASM, revamped training, new management entirely, or to lock...
Read moreThis review isn't about the gamestop company but about the store itself. I frequently shop at this gamestop because it's the closest to my house. It's custom service has been getting worse and worse. From back-dooring scalpers to never getting my pre-orders and telling me to find it at another store. Tonight myself and another customer were told we wouldn't be serviced because the associate was still checking out a customer but it was closing time. I was there 20 mins prior to closing and the customer in front of me was there 30-35mins. We waited patiently didn't say anything, we were ready to check out. Right when he finished with the customers in front of us (they took a long time because of questions and a big purchase) he said sorry guys I can't help you tonight. So we both put our things we picked out away and walked out. Now I've worked at gamestop before and always rang up everyone that was at the store even after close I would just lock the door so no new customers would walk in. Just felt that if he realized that those customers had all those questions and weren't ready then ring us up first or just tell us hey this going to take a while why not come back tomorrow so we don't just stand there and maybe we can make it to another location. Anyway lesson learned going be pulling my pre-orders from that location and driving the extra 10mins to...
Read moreThe manager here has been rude to us several times but the last straw was the Pokémon releases. Scalpers come and set up empty chairs just to let their people in line an hour or two before the store opens. Manager says it's up to the line to decide if that's allowed, but what are we going to do?? If we just cut in line like the rest of them we'd be kicked out by the store for the disturbance. It doesn't make sense. The next logical step would be to limit the amount of product each person can get further, so that everyone gets something, but they claim they can't do that because they're a franchise or some other nonsense; this does NOT track, as I've been to plenty of other gamestops where the manager decides to limit the items further than what is posted on the door. Manager is just stubborn and combative. Will not be coming here again. If you're trying to get Pokémon on release day, I recommend not coming...
