I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD, DO NOT GO HERE, THE REVIEWS ARE NOT A GOOD REFLECTION OF SERVICE:
Unfortunately, I need to write a bad review after a horrendous and, no pun intended, scarring experience with Dr. Jason Clark and his office. If you have a more serious condition you are looking to have treated here, please read and reconsider a different office that reassures its competency and care for patients.
Throughout my lifetime I have received around 60 medical laser treatments on my Port Wine Stain birthmark, a condition I was born with. Sadly, my previous doctor recommended me to Jason Clark, who had worked under/with her previously. In the beginning the process seemed normal, but as I revisited I could feel the disorganization and lackluster care for their patients.
On every single revisit(2-3 times now), despite my resistance and recollection, the nurses have forced me to accept putting numbing cream on my birthmark, regardless of the fact it is essential I am not numbed for this procedure as the blood vessels would retreat if numbed, nullifying the treatment. Every time after insisting I am to be numbed, they return, abrasively rubbing it off of my face delaying treatment further. This displays clear incompetency by their nurses, who should be fully aware of who their patient is and the proper steps to prepare them for the procedure. (Hypothetical): What if they thought a certain medicine was required that was not? I would not trust them with anything.
If scarring is also a fear for you during cosmetic treatments, look elsewhere. My birthmark causes my lip to be bigger on the side of my face that it dominates. Clark suggested we zap from the inside of the bottom of the lip to pull it back with a different, less powerful laser so that there was little to no risk of visual damage. That specific treatment has left me with five, large, visible scars across the top of my bottom lip that have not gone away since(these are visible always when smiling and will permanently affect my image). This makes the scar result 100% on the top of that lip, not close to the level of risk they relayed to me. Clark also claimed afterwards we would be able to reduce the size of them with another laser, which never ended up succeeding.
And finally what pushed me to write this review, I had scheduled a treatment with Clark months in advance, received phone call and text confirmation weeks, days, and hours beforehand, and had everything in line to bare another painful treatment with this man. The office thought appropriate to wait until I was in the building and taken to the room to notify me that my treatment would instead just be a check-up, which ended up pushing me into a panic attack back in the waiting room. Whether this was due to insurance reasons, lack of follow through on their part, etc., I was not notified until minutes before I believed I would be treated. Clark wasn't even present in the building during this, or at least he didn't see fit to give me an explanation before I left as I never saw him once, which I took incredible offense to. You must understand the pain and stress that goes into this and the mental fortitude you need to have going in to get 150+ laser marks done across your neck and cheek. So in the end, I traveled by plane, took 3 days PTO from work, and setup all the necessary steps to get this done, and they refused me at the office, with the nurse practitioner, Lauren I think her name was, admitting her horrible fault and taking blame for the scenario, not that I cared who's fault it was. Who knows what really happened.
This is the only time I've ever felt pushed to write a bad review anywhere, and this isn't even mentioning the random and unnecessary coldness shown to my mother, who would take me to and from these extensive procedures. They make you feel like you have no understanding of your own emotion/image/condition.
Take this warning and run, they are seriously awful here, and I know I will not...
Read moreEdit: I was able to get in contact with the office and they cleared up the miscommunication we had! There was a lot going on with my records and we were able to resolve the misunderstanding. The staff ended up handling everything in a professional manner. Hence why I updated my review. Dr. Clark spends time with you and makes sure he answers all your questions.
rarely ever write a review let alone a long one, but I had to say this because this might serve as a learning opportunity for the clinic staff. Also because the reason why I chose this clinic was based on the ratings. I called and scheduled an consultation with Dr Clark. My appointment was on August 10th. He had a great bedside manner and explained everything to me. He wanted to get my records from my previous hospital. I filled out the form with my previous clinic info and they said they will contact me to schedule my next appointment. When I didn’t hear back from the clinic I called about a week and half later. They said they didn’t receive my records. I asked for the fax number and personally called my previous clinic and confirmed they faxed the paperwork already. I called the office back and let them know. They said they will check and call me back. NO CALL. I called back the next week, the representative said they didn’t receive anything. But no one cared to call me back. I called my previous clinic again and stayed on the phone with them to make sure they re-fax my records. I called the clinic back and told them they have sent my records for the second time. The lady on the phone said she doesn’t see it. She said it might take a few hours. She said she would call me back by the end of the day. NO CALL. At this point it is A WHOLE MONTH of back and forth (Me calling them, and them saying we will call you back!) I liked the Doctor but the Front desk has a major organization problem. Today I called one last time and another representative told me she was not aware of my situation. I explained everything to her she said she would call me back before the end of day. It’s 5:30 pm September 17th and the clinic is closed. This has to be the most unprofessional and unorganized clinic I’ve ever been to. I wanted to give the Dr. a good rating because he really seems nice and knowledgeable however if you can’t get through to him what is the point. I wish I went with another Dr. I wasted my time and money...
Read moreI came here to try and fix laser burns caused by another clinic. After that first clinic that ruined my face I went to two other medical dermatologists and when they could not help me I decided to drive all the way down to buckhead and visit doctor Clark. He was actually recommended by one of the other dermatologist md’s I’d been to before.
Dr. Clark was conservative and realistic in describing how much the treatments would help, but I’m happy to say I’m pleased with the results. And unlike the other derms who exaggerated the efficacy and guarantee of their treatments, the more up front and honest tone from dr. Clark was refreshing.
We ended up doing the clear and bright program or whatever it’s called. I only went twice and decided not to go back for more because I was already satisfied after the 2 treatments. Also because I felt I was getting new/different spots from the healing process of this new laser. Not to mention it is very expensive. I appreciated that dr. Clark personally did the lasering himself instead of delegating that to an aesthetician or nurse.
I did take off one star because there were a couple times I think they tried to upcharge me. This is a business after all I guess, but that was slightly annoying. Can’t complain too much though because ultimately at the end of the day he was the only one able to improve my scars.
I’ll be coming back here next time I need any other derm work done and I would definitely...
