I read the reviews and was shocked to see such petty grievances about staff performance, too many televisions, locks, restrooms, the lack of a sauna and more free weights! Complaints about free bagels and pizza and candy machines! Really!!!! I have not experienced any of those issues except the sauna but I (and anyone else) can do that at home. In fact, I prefer my own personal sauna experience at home so that should be a non factor. I was unaware of the pizza and bagels but that should be viewed as either an incentive to lose weight and get in shape by staying away from the pizza and bagels or as a way to treat yourself AFTER a workout or even as a way the facility management is showing appreciation for their patrons. It isn't mandatory for patrons to indulge in those treats but people coming into the gym after a hard day at work and in traffic might appreciate those treats so I say keep the pizza and bagels. Yes, there are a lot of tv's and music and they create noise, which I prefer. I mean who really wants to work out in a library or mausoleum? I thrive on that noise but it doesn't bother me because like 99.9% of the people there working out......I being my own music. The tv's are fine so that other .1% complaining about tv's should probably get onboard. Those complaining about lack of equipment had to know what they were getting into when they signed up. Didnt you do a walk through before joining the gym? The fact is, with new amenities comes an increase in price of membership so for the very reasonable and much appreciated price for which I am charged every month, what do you expect? If PF is not for you then consider joining another gym with more amenities, wierd hours of operations, a higher monthly fee or workout at home. It has been my experience that the staff here is courteous and professional. The facility is clean, well laid out with ample equipment to serve my needs and it seems like those working or around me are pleased as well. I was once a member at another PF, joined another gym that was closer to my home but now PF is once again near me and I made a great choice by rejoining. Can't beat the price and location. They earned a solid 3.5 stars. 2 reasons why they don't get 5 stars is because a.) They have a sign posted in the weight room defining what PF defines as a "lunk". The definition is derogatory to me and others like me because some of the "definition" pertains to me. I am not amused and it seems like reverse bullying for which I have little to no appreciation for and it takes away from an otherwise positive gym experience. B.) I recently arrived to the gym around 8am. The first thing I saw was broken auto glass window on the ground as if a vehicle had been broken into. I certainly didn't expect that......not so soon but I do know the area. Seeing that kind of dashed my thoughts about using the gym anytime after dark between 7pm and 7am. I've had black card since 2017 and paid planet fitness over $2000. I am very busy and only get to visit about 5x a month. After years of giving this gym thousands of $ the manager William with long dreadlocks refused to let me work out claiming I owed $40. I told him this was not correct and even came back to show my checking account transaction where the money was taken all the way through last month. He just stood there with this silly smirk on his face. No customer service skills whatsoever. This is the wrong person to have claiming to be a manager at this location. I was very disappointed as I never had a problem through the years. I will be cancelling my membership. Instead of standing behind the counter being selective about who can work out, You should be cleaning the equipment and making customers feel welcome. I am very disappointed in PF. Hire better staff!!! He could have just said please check with your home gym and resolve this issue rather than deny a dedicated loyal customer access. I called my home gym to resolve the billing issue and they agreed that there was no need to deny me access. They recommended I come in to resolve the billing issue as it could be an error. That's the right way William. If you want to supervise people and a large facility get the right skills. I have managed in banking for over 15 years so I know right from wrong!! I expect premium customer service and not just some random person glancing at a screen to make a decision. If William had skills he would have pulled me to the side and had a private review of my account rather than humiliate me in front of the other PF staff. A manager position is not "power" it is really about being better and knowing how to resolve issues that come up throughout the day. I've never complained but the staff at this gym appear to just stand behind the counter with sour faces. Please train your staff and treat your customers better. Management is very disgustingly RUDE! Due to COVID, I am very concerned to go into Public unless absolutely necessary. Because I no longer live in the Atlanta area and the fact that I've NEVER used the membership, I asked if my membership could be canceled via email. Although management was willing to put my membership on "HOLD" via email, they've REFUSED to cancel my membership via email. Someone in my household was diagnosed w/ COVID recently; therefore, I had to go to my doctor's office for testing and received a POSITIVE Covid test result! I spoke with Chance, who is the locations operations manager, who is who refused to cancel my membership. When asking him to escalate my concerns to his superiors, I was advised that "I already told you" and "they'll just refer you back to me anyway" (which is not what I asked). I have been going back and forth for WEEKS about this. Due to HIPPA, I shouldn't have to disclose my Protected Health Information. And EVEN THOUGH I have my paperwork to prove that I've tested positive for COVID and I've been requested to quarantine for weeks, I still never received any response from a superior. I just want to let you know that THIS LOCATION DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY and THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC!! They refuse to cancel my membership and STILL are asking me to put the public's health at risk and go into the post office to send them a certified letter for cancellation of my membership. It would make more sense if they couldn't verify me through email, but the fact that an email was taken to set up my account with them, and the fact that I've been communicating via email with them... additionally, the words on an email are just as binding as a piece of mail in the court of law, it's beyond FATHOMABLE and very unconscionable that they would continue to refuse to cancel my membership and put the post office employees, their employees, AND the members of their gym's...
